The Philadelphia Phillies and Dave Dombrowski have a big trade deadline ahead of them. The list of needs is continuously growing, and they need to address some major issues with the roster. They will reportedly be “adding aggressively,” according to ESPN’s Jeff Passan, so let’s take a look at 20 of the best trade targets.

Phillies Biggest Needs: SP, RP, RHH (OF), C
Michael Wacha could be one of the best fits for the Phillies at this moment. He’s a veteran starter who could eat some innings as the fifth starter for the remaineder of the season. The 35-year-old has a 3.66 ERA in 125 innings pitched this season.
Brady Singer is not someone who will blow you away, but he always gets the job done. He can give you six innings every fifth day, while limiting the damage. He will give the offense a chance to win, something the Phillies have been missing from the fifth starter.
Robbie Ray would be a bigger contract to take on, but that would lessen his price in a trade. He could be one of the best value pickups amongst Phillies trade deadline targets.
Casey Mize is having a great season (2.79 ERA) and would be the best name for the Phillies amongst reasonable targets. It would be quite pricey to acquire him if they wanted to go this route.
Jeffrey Springs isn’t going to be the best fit for Philadelphia, but he may be what they can afford. His price won’t be high at all, as he’s pitched to a nearly six ERA. He could fill a gap in the rotation, but they’d need to hope someone else in the organization can step up before the end of the season.
Bailey Ober would be a really nice addition and is a good mix of reliable and not too costly. Him, combined with another move or two to address other needs, would be a great deadline.
Brooks Raley is an effective lefty setup man who has become one of the most underrated relievers in the league. The New York Mets will be selling, and a couple of their relievers should be on the Phillies’ radar.
Luke Weaver is the second Mets reliever they should be targeting at the trade deadline. The Brad Keller injury put them in a spot where a major reliever is needed, whether righty or lefty.
Daniel Lynch IV is a sneaky good move the Phillies could make at the deadline. He’s turned into a really good reliever and could help out the lefties in the pen. He has just a 0.92 WHIP this season.
Jason Adam has been a major contributor in the bullpen for his entire career. The San Diego Padres have a few really good relievers the Phillies should be interested in, and Adam is one of them.
Adrian Morejon is another Padres arm that should interest the Phillies. He’s essentially a young version of Raley. A reliable lefty who can be a great bridge to Jhoan Duran.
Lane Thomas is a usual on these lists every season. It gives them another righty in the lineup and more outfield depth. Thomas could have been signed in free agency this past season; now Philadelphia would have to give up a piece to get him.
Isaac Collins is another Royals OF who could interest the Phillies. He’s a switch hitter who’s hitting .244 on the year with a .706 OPS (.344 OBP).
Jo Adell makes a ton of sense for Philadelphia. A high-upside power hitter to slot into the bottom half of the lineup. It wouldn’t come cheap, but it could be worth it in the long run.
Taylor Ward may be the best immediate fit for Philadelphia. His high OBP would make him a great addition to the top half of the Phillies lineup.
Heliot Ramos isn’t the most realistic option due to his high price tag, but man would he be a good fit. He’s hitting .268 and has real pop in his bat. He’s under team control through the 2029 season.
Lourdes Gurriel popped up in Phillies rumors last week, and it seems like such a Phillies move (Not in a good way). This is just another mediocre bat that would resemble the move to acquire Austin Hays.
Seiya Suzuki would be the splash move that would indicate that the Phillies are going all in. He’s hitting .273 with 19 homers and an .844 OPS. He would instantly become the cleanup hitter behind Trea Turner, Bryce Harper, and Kyle Schwarber.
Ryan Jeffers was expected to be a target this offseason if the Phillies moved on from JT Realmuto. Now, they could revisit as the veteran catcher has severely underperformed. Jeffers is hitting .287 with a .950 OPS this season (143 ABs).
Adley Rutschman would fill the same Realmuto void as Jeffers. This would be more of an upside play from Dombrowski rather than an immediate impact like Jeffers. The trade cost would be very high as well.
These trade targets were limited to a group of players that I felt were the most reasonable targets. Superstars like Tarik Skubal and Byron Buxton seem too far-fetched, despite the Phillies being connected to them in rumors.
