The Philadelphia Phillies don’t necessarily need Skubal, but Dave Dombrowski has never stopped adding to his rotations. Adding Skubal to a playoff rotation of Zack Wheeler and Cristopher Sanchez would create the best trip in the league by a long shot. The question is whether or not they have what it takes to get him. They have a very weak farm system, one that was recently ranked 29th in the MLB.

The Atlanta Braves would be a sneaky team in the Skubal trade conversations, but they shouldn’t be overlooked. They have the need and prospect capital to make a move for the star. Atlanta’s rotation has been banged up and inconsistent throughout 2026. Adding a top-of-the-rotation arm like Skubal would make a ton of sense at the trade deadline.
