Tarik Skubal trade rumors have dominated the lead-up to the 2026 MLB trade deadline. Every team has been linked to him at least once throughout this process, but three have really stood out. Here’s a look at the three best fits, as well as potential Skubal trade packages to watch for in the coming weeks.
Philadelphia Phillies

The Philadelphia Phillies don’t necessarily need Skubal, but Dave Dombrowski has never stopped adding to his rotations. Adding Skubal to a playoff rotation of Zack Wheeler and Cristopher Sanchez would create the best trip in the league by a long shot. The question is whether or not they have what it takes to get him. They have a very weak farm system, one that was recently ranked 29th in the MLB.

Atlanta Braves

The Atlanta Braves would be a sneaky team in the Skubal trade conversations, but they shouldn’t be overlooked. They have the need and prospect capital to make a move for the star. Atlanta’s rotation has been banged up and inconsistent throughout 2026. Adding a top-of-the-rotation arm like Skubal would make a ton of sense at the trade deadline.

Los Angeles Dodgers

The Los Angeles Dodgers will always be the team to beat when it comes to any MLB trade rumors. They have the money to buy any player in the league twice. On top of that, they have the best farm system in the league. If a superstar is available, they need to be mentioned. Skubal is just that, making the Dodgers a realistic landing spot.
