St John’s Enters College Top 16

Auburn Still Top Dog
Auburn traveled on the road Saturday to face Alabama after being revealed as the top overall seed in the bracket reveal, and they proved it for much of the game. They are led by forward Johni Broome, who is a front-runner for national player of the year.
Broome finished with 19 points, 14 rebounds, and 6 assists, despite playing through an ankle injury. Auburn also benefited from Alabama’s three-point shooting being off during the game, but Auburn took control late in the game. Their quick start was enough to exit Tuscaloosa with a win.

End Of My College Basketball Rant

As the SEC dominates college basketball, we’ve also seen other teams take shape and make impressive runs. Right now, a few teams in that fold include Wisconsin, St. John’s, Michigan, Texas Tech, and Houston, among many others.
The final stretch of these games is going to be exciting as we head into the conference tournaments and tackle those crucial matchups. The energy is high, and the stakes are elevated as teams position themselves for the final push in their conference standings. With rankings likely to change week to week, the excitement is palpable.
This time of the year is the greatest in the sport, from conference tournaments to each championship and title game leading into March Madness—it’s an exciting time for the average fan. As we focus on the end of the year, let’s keep in mind that these seeds will change, and some teams won’t hold the same position come Selection Sunday.
This is a chance for other teams to jockey for position, make improvements, and get better in hopes of earning a top seed and a better ranking come March. If you haven’t been following college basketball and only tune in during March, definitely missing the boat.
