This weekend, college basketball will take the spotlight once again. It all kicks off early with the bracket reveal, and from Mackey Arena to Tuscaloosa to College station.
Wisconsin will be heading to Purdue this weekend, and who would have thought they’d have one of the top offenses in college basketball? Traditionally known for their strong defense, the Badgers are showcasing an offense this season that’s performing at a high level. They’re heavily relying on their three-point shooting as well.
On the other side, Purdue rarely loses at home. Mackey Arena is known as one of the toughest environments to play in, and when the Boilermakers are firing on all cylinders, they’re extremely difficult to beat. This matchup is a big one in the Big Ten!
One of the underrated matchups of the day is Arkansas going on the road to face a Texas A&M team that is playing as well as anybody right now.
These teams get after it on defense, and if they aren’t hitting shots it can be make for an ugly, rock fight. Wade Taylor IV has reached double-digit scoring in his last five games and is playing at an elite level.
Another top game this weekend is Houston traveling across the country to face an Arizona team that is playing great basketball at the right time. Arizona did lose recently to Kansas State, but before that, they had reeled off six wins in a row.
Defense against offense, whichever way this game goes, it’s sure to be entertaining and fun. When Caleb Love gets going, it’s one of the best things to watch in all of college basketball.
The biggest game of the day takes place in Tuscaloosa. College GameDay will be there, featuring Johni Broome and Mark Sears. This game has the makings of an instant classic.
Alabama and Auburn are both ranked No. 1 and No. 2 in offensive efficiency per KenPom, and this game looks to be a track meet. This will be the first time in SEC history that both teams will play against each other as No. 1 and No. 2.
This isn’t football; this is basketball.
Saturday features to be another fun day of college basketball. March is around the corner, and teams are vying for potential top seeds, staying off the bubble, and improving their chances. It should be an action-packed day!
This part of the season separates the men from the boys, and the contenders from the pretenders, with the bracket reveal adding to the spice of the day. This has been a fun college basketball season, and one that will be remembered for many years, especially with the SEC dominance, the Auburn story, Cooper Flagg’s journey, and more.
