Now that the dust from the 2025 draft has settled, NFL trade buzz swirls around the league like a hurricane. Teams and their general managers are searching for that extra boost to their roster, that one impact player who could spark a Super Bowl run. Here are some players who could be on the move and their most logical landing spots.
It seems like now more than ever, the NFL is filled with riveting trades. Just this past off-season, star players like Deebo Samuel, DK Metcalf, and Laremy Tunsil were shipped away in blockbuster deals that will alter how the upcoming season looks entirely. With that being said, the NFL off-season is far from over, and there are still a handful of players who could be sent packing for a new city.
A few weeks ago, the Dolphins and Jalen Ramsey mutually agreed to seek a trade. There aren’t many teams in the NFL that wouldn’t benefit from a physical veteran defensive back presence, and Ramsey offers exactly that.
Ramsey has already seen his fair share of changed scenery. After being drafted to Jacksonville, he moved out to play for the Los Angeles Rams, and now, he resides in Miami with the Dolphins. He is a good coverage corner, but his age is beginning to show; 2024 saw Ramsey regress immensely. For the first time since 2019, he was not selected for the Pro Bowl. He also received a career-low tackle grade and a coverage grade of 71.9, per Pro Football Focus.
However, Ramsey led all DBs in quarterback pressures with 12 and ranked fourth in pass rush snaps among DBs. Perhaps he isn’t what he used to be, but he can still be utilized as a physical defender, a slot Blitzer, or a reliable coverage corner. Ramsey has also expressed interest in seeing snaps at the safety position, where his physicality would pay dividends for any team looking to stuff the run.
Due to the structure of Ramsey’s contract, the Dolphins would clear up $10 million in cap space if they were to trade Ramsey after June 1st. Given that June is a month away, NFL teams have some time to throw their line in the water for a chance at landing the star DB.
One NFL team that could express interest in Ramsey is the Los Angeles Rams (again). The Rams did not opt to select a DB in the 2025 NFL draft, which leaves a giant hole in their defensive lineup. Their starters are Cobie Durant and Darious Williams, neither of whom is an A-list shutdown defender.
Additionally, as Rams Head Coach Sean McVay notes, the Rams already know Ramsey and how to utilize him. McVay also notes, however, that the Rams have a lot on their plate, and adding a veteran DB might not be a priority at the moment, even if it would be a good fit.

While the Rams might not select Ramsey this off-season, the Arizona Cardinals, an NFC West division rival, very well could. The Cardinals’ DB room also looks a bit bleak. Their starting lineup is occupied by Jaylon Jones and Sean-Murphy-Bunting, both of whom have room for development but a rather low ceiling.
The NFL draft also blessed the Cardinals with Michigan DB Will Johnson sliding down to their 47th pick, albeit due to injury concerns. Ramsey’s veteran presence could develop this young DB room into a refined group of playmakers.
Another Miami Dolphin finds himself on the trade block. Tyreek Hill was an absolute animal when he played in Kansas City, but since he joined Miami, his production has seen a steep drop-off. Through cryptic messages on the platform “X”, Hill has hinted at the possibility of moving on from Miami.
Hill’s smaller physique, even as he ages, allows him an insanely quick change of direction and north-south speed, making him one of the hardest players to defend in the NFL. While at one point he may have been worth becoming the highest-paid player of all time, recent off-field character concerns have arisen. Then there is the inevitable “Father Time,” who has started to decrease his value considerably. This makes him a very valuable trade target to numerous teams looking for another offensive weapon, and one of those teams is the Dallas Cowboys.
Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has become progressively lax during free agency periods. The Cowboys have made a few trades this offseason, most notably acquiring quarterback Joe Milton III from the New England Patriots. They’ve yet to really dip into the free agent market, and their trades have been rather negligible, so trading for Tyreek Hill could be a logical move that puts them back in contention to win the NFC East.
The Cowboys already boast the electric route runner Ceedee Lamb, but giving QB Dak Prescott another A-List weapon could prove extremely fortuitous. During the NFL Draft, the Cowboys elected to bolster their offensive line with Alabama guard Tyler Booker. They also made a late-round addition to their running back room with Texas star Jaydon Blue.
It is unclear what the Dolphins would want in return for Tyreek Hill, but the Cowboys easily have the cap space and draft capital to make a strong offer.
Falcons fans should look away; Kirk Cousins signed a 4-year, $180,000,000 deal with Atlanta last March, and now he could be traded away just a year later.
After the Falcons signed former Chargers backup QB Easton Stick, trade rumors surrounding Cousins started to fly. If the team were to trade him, the Steelers would make the most sense.
Even though the Steelers selected Ohio State QB Will Howard in the NFL Draft, there isn’t one person in Pittsburgh who believes their QB hole is filled. If Pittsburgh were willing to eat that chunky contract for Kirk Cousins, they could bring in a strong veteran presence to mentor Howard into becoming a prominent pocket passer. If the Steelers fail to win the Aaron Rodgers sweepstakes, Cousins would be a logical next approach.
Cousins may not be the gunslinger he was in Minnesota, but he still has a few years of decent value left in his career. Would any team be willing to choke down such a large contract dump for a bridge player? In an increasingly competitive NFC South, the Falcons could use cap room to improve their roster.
The NFL is as competitive as ever. One trade can make a ginormous difference in how a team’s season shapes up. In the next few months, don’t be surprised if NFL teams make a few more substantial moves, and especially don’t be surprised if the guys listed above are at the center of those moves.
