Week 2 of the NFL season is officially in the books, and the latest NFL power rankings feature several major changes. The Bengals and Saints made significant jumps, while the Texans and Ravens took major tumbles after disappointing losses.
The Buffalo Bills jump into the number one spot in the NFL power rankings after a great showing on Thursday Night Football. Josh Allen found the end zone five times, leading the Bills to a 41-31 victory over the Lions.
The San Francisco 49ers drop a spot in the power rankings, but it has nothing to do with their performance on the field. They dominated the Dolphins 35-13. As long as they stay healthy, they are threats against any team in the NFL.
The Seattle Seahawks did their job in Arizona, picking up a 31-7 win over the Cardinals. They remain as one of the best teams in the NFL. Sam Darnold is expected back soon, helping their cause even more.
The Cincinnati Bengals showed off their new defense in a great performance against the Texans. They picked up a 20-6 win on Sunday to catapult them into the top five.
Face the New York Giants on Monday Night Football. Rankings will be updated following the contest.
The Philadelphia Eagles had to fight for the win against the Titans, but they were able to claw one out thanks to Jalen Hurts. They move to 2-0 on the season.
The New England Patriots had a nice bounce-back performance against the Steelers. They picked up their first win of the season with a 20-3 final score.
The Chicago Bears lost, but the focus turns to the injury to Caleb Williams. A significant blow regardless, but it could really destroy their promising season if he has to miss substantial time.
The Baltimore Ravens dropped a game to the Saints that will haunt them for the remainder of the season. It was a winnable game that got away from them, dropping their record to 1-1.
The Kansas City Chiefs were in a dogfight with the Colts, but they came out on top 33-30 in overtime following a 40-yard field goal by Harrison Butker. Travis Kelce looked great, bringing in nine receptions for 101 yards and a touchdown. The Chiefs move up into the top ten in the NFL power rankings.
The Denver Broncos picked up a win against the Jacksonville Jaguars. After that really bad performance against the Chiefs, it was nice to see some life in the offense.
The Dallas Cowboys had a great bounce-back game against the Commanders. The passing game was almost perfect, and CeeDee Lamb was the primary reason. He finished with two touchdowns and 153 receiving yards.
The Minnesota Vikings put on a defensive masterpiece against the Chicago Bears. Coming off a game where they scored nearly 60 points, Brian Flores and the Vikings held them out of the end zone completely.
The Detroit Lions lost to the Bills, but that isn’t going to change their spot in the rankings too much. They drop to 1-1 but fall just one spot.
The Houston Texans drop six spots after another disappointing loss, this time to the Cincinnati Bengals. The entire team played a very poor game of football. They are a team that really needs a statement win next week against the Colts.
The New Orleans Saints are the biggest movers of the week as they jump seven spots following their win over the Baltimore Ravens. Their record moves to 1-1, and they were a two-point conversion away from being 2-0 with wins over two legit contenders. A great start to the season for Kellen Moore and New Orleans.

The Green Bay Packers pick up the win but drop one spot in the power rankings. A three-point win in overtime against the Jets isn’t going to cut it for a team looking to put their name into contention conversations.
The Las Vegas Raiders improve to 2-0 after their victory over the Los Angeles Chargers. Kirk Cousins has now thrown three touchdowns in each of his first two games as a Raider.
The Jacksonville Jaguars lost to the Broncos 20-13 to drop them to 1-1. The offense never really got in a rhythm against Denver’s defense.
The Carolina Panthers destroyed the Falcons, scoring 30+ points for the second consecutive game. Maybe their offense is legit? Only time will tell, but an impressive bounce-back game for Carolina even against a weak opponent.
The Washington Commanders dropped their second consecutive game to a division rival, but the game took a backseat when QB Jayden Daniels went down with an injury. They will need to get him healthy if they want any chance of reviving this season.
The Pittsburgh Steelers have only managed to score one offensive touchdown through eight quarters of football in 2026. To put it in perspective, their kicker (3 FGM) has added more points than the entire offense.
The Los Angeles Chargers drop to 0-2 to open the season after a really poor showing against the Raiders. They fumbled six times (lost one); that sums up how their season is going.
The Arizona Cardinals got smacked by the Seattle Seahawks, but that’s the outcome just about everyone predicted. It does hurt that a backup QB, Drew Lock, was the one to do the job. Cardinals drop to 1-1.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers put on an embarrassing display of football on Sunday. The game was delayed for hours just for them to come back and lose to the Browns. They dropped six spots in the rankings, and they are lucky it isn’t more. They need to get back on track.
The New York Jets put up a pretty good fight against the Green Bay Packers, leading the game late before letting it get away from them. They lost 20-17 in overtime to move to 1-1.
The Indianapolis Colts put up a fight against the Chiefs; there’s just not much room to improve in the rankings for an 0-2 team. They drop a spot down to 28th in the post-week two NFL power rankings.
The Cleveland Browns… won? I’m not sure if this says more about the Browns than it does the Buccaneers, but the fans in Cleveland should enjoy this either way. They won’t see many wins this season.
The Tennessee Titans put up a fight against the Eagles but ultimately came up short. Their 24-20 loss moves them to 0-2 on the season.
The Miami Dolphins continue to show no signs of life. Their offense is just as bad as everyone expected it to be heading into the season. Their loss to the 49ers moves them to 0-2 on the season.
The Atlanta Falcons are already onto their fourth QB on their depth chart, and Michael Penix cannot make his season debut quickly enough. They got steamrolled by the Panthers 34-3 to move them to 0-2.
