LeBron James is facing what is likely the final NBA free agency decision of his NBA career. He will be patient and find the perfect landing spot for him to contend for one last championship. Where could that be? Well, his agent Rich Paul (via Game Over pod) took a look at some realistic teams James is considering. These two teams stood out above the rest, and one of them will shock you.
The Miami Heat have long been rumored to be a spot for James due to the previous connection and stint in South Beach. This became an even more likely scenario when the Heat traded for Giannis Antetokounmpo. The main thing that stuck out from the podcast was how much the defense could entice LeBron to join. At the age of 42, he deserves the opportunity to get some possessions off. Where else would he be able to do that but in Miami? That’s where they get the edge on other teams.
The Philadelphia 76ers were the very first team discussed on the podcast. The praises were loud, making it seem like there’s a very high chance Philadelphia is the landing spot. Obviously, this wouldn’t be the case prior to the Jaylen Brown trade, but now they have a real shot at contention. Paul starred Tyrese Maxey’s name, saying how much LeBron loves the fellow Klutch client.
76ers front office members Mike Gansey and James Nelson were also name-dropped. Gansey, who’s from Ohio, has had a connection with LeBron dating all the way back to High School. It is evident that Philadelphia has a real shot at landing LeBron, a shocking development in the NBA offseason.
LeBron will be in no rush to make this decision, but the teams are already banging on his door trying to land the G.O.A.T. Paul going over the likely landing spots made for one of the best pieces of media this NBA offseason. His hinting at Miami or Philadelphia could turn out to be the biggest rumor spill we get in this LeBron free agency saga.
