Barcelona’s Ronald Araujo has been surrounded with rumors regarding his future. Now, reports link Araujo’s future to the possible arrival of Bayer Leverkusen’s Jonathan Tah.
Barcelona’s Ronald Araujo has recently returned from injury and is starting to be introduced back into the squad. Now, speculation regarding his future is alive and well more than ever.
Araujo Wants To Stay In Barcelona
According to Cadena SER, Araujo wants to stay in Barcelona and regain his position since the Catalan side has been depending on Pau Cubarsi and Inigo Martinez.
The report, however, states that despite Araujo’s desire, the club itself remains the one to keep him.
Barcelona Are Confident That Araujo Will Stay
The €65 million release clause in his contract fueled the rumors surrounding Araujo. This clause allows the Uruguayan to leave the club if another club activates it. It is only valid for the first 10 days of the transfer window.
While fans are worried that this release clause might be the door which Araujo would walk out of, Barcelona are confident that he will stay.
This certainty coming from Barcelona and Araujo isn’t a guarantee. After all, anything can happen when the transfer window starts.
Would Barcelona Sign Jonathan Tah?
According to the same report, the signing of Jonathan Tah might still be in the picture. The club has been linked to him for a long time now.
However, a source told Cadena SER that the deal for Tah is “far from done.” If Araujo stayed, the club might not sign Tah after all.
On the other hand, if Araujo somehow ended up leaving the club, Tah’s signing would become a possibility once again.
Barcelona might also use Araujo’s transfer fee if he were to leave, to sign a different player instead of signing Tah as a free agent.
Araujo Should Stay
While Araujo made it clear that he doesn’t want to leave, he might change his opinion in the future. Since he returned from injury, he hasn’t been able to secure a starting spot.
Despite this, I think that Araujo would still stay. He has been at the club for a while, and fans love him. If he went somewhere else, he would have to start from the beginning to try and gain a fan base.
With Hansi Flick in charge, Araujo might be encouraged more to stay. Flick has been essential for the change in Barcelona. He might help them return to glory, and Araujo might want to be a part of this.

End Of My Rant
The club’s defensive line is surrounded by doubt about who will stay and who will leave. This is why they should make up their minds about their next steps.
