Anfernee Simons has agreed to a two-year contract with the Philadelphia 76ers worth $12.3 million. This contract will be absorbed into the remainder of the MLE available to the Sixers. He joins Dean Wade and Ariel Hukporti as the team’s free agent signings.
Who Is Anfernee Simons?

Simons is one of the best scorers off the bench currently in the NBA. He has averaged over 18 points a game the last five seasons and was sixth in the league in three-pointers made off the bench last year.
Simons has just turned 27 and has been in the league for eight seasons. He has played for the Portland Trailblazers, Boston Celtics, and, most recently, the Chicago Bulls. He brings a career average of 14.9 points and 38% from three.
Philadelphia 76ers Fit

The 76ers desperately needed bench scoring, as they had one of the worst benches in the NBA in terms of points contributed. Simons will now join rookie Labaron Philon as the guard duo off the bench. That’s a pairing that can really take over a game when entering as a reserve.
Simons also joins newly acquired Jaylen Brown, who was also a recent teammate in Boston. The two had great success last season with the Celtics; hopefully, that continues on with Philadelphia.
Simons will also give them more offensively than Quentin Grimes did. This is big due to the difference in cost for the two guards. Simons signed for just two years, $12 million. Grimes signed for four years, $60 million.
End Of My Anfernee Simons Rant

Simons fills the largest gap on the roster as a scoring guard off the bench. The upside in this move is massive and will become even bigger in the postseason. Philadelphia has always lacked that threat off the bench in the Joel Embiid era, but now that has changed. Mike Gansey is having an incredible first offseason with the 76ers.
