According to Florian Plettenberg, a journalist at Sky Germany, Kerkez’s move is considered a “done deal.” The two clubs seem to have reached an agreement on contract terms and the player is ready to join the Reds.
In addition to this, the contract is reportedly long-term which means that Liverpool will be improving their defensive line for years to come. What remains is for Kerkez to go through medical and then fans will wait for the deal to be announced.
It has also been reported that the deal will be around £40 million ($50.8 million) which is quite reasonable when one thinks of Kerkez’s talent. Personal terms have also been finalized so as Plettenberg said, the deal seems to be “done.”
One thing that can’t be denied is that Kerkez is the kind of player Liverpool needs. The 21-year-old had a great season at Bournemouth as he played 38 games in the Premier League. He managed to score two goals and had six assists; these numbers might continue when he makes the move to his new club.
The full-back would be a great replacement for Andy Robertson in case anything happens. He is the kind of player you can depend on defensively and offensively as well. He can transition from defense to attack smoothly which would be quite helpful for the Reds.
