Through the opening slate of the 2026 NBA Summer League, several rookies have already begun to stand out among their peers. While it’s true that Summer League dominance isn’t always a perfect indicator of future professional success, it’s always interesting to see how rookies stack up against NBA competition from the jump.
Let’s outline which rookies have impressed the most through the first few 2026 NBA Summer League games, while also taking a look at what their roles could be during their inaugural seasons.
Caleb Wilson – F, Chicago Bulls

Stats vs. Memphis – 35 points, 5 rebounds, 3 blocks
Caleb Wilson was selected fourth overall in the 2026 NBA Draft by the Chicago Bulls and figures to make a sizeable and immediate impact on both sides of the floor. During the Bulls’ Friday night matchup against the Memphis Grizzlies, the North Carolina product went to work, totaling one of the best NBA Summer League performances we’ve seen in years.
35 points is already an impressive mark, but five rebounds and three blocks tie this statline together nicely. Wilson has the chance to become a superstar if everything goes well in Chicago, and the way things are looking at the moment, he shouldn’t have too much trouble adjusting to NBA competition. Look for Wilson to have a productive rookie year.
AJ Dybantsa – F, Washington Wizards
Stats vs. Utah – 27 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists
The top overall pick in this year’s draft debuted in the NBA Summer League against the Utah Jazz, putting up a performance that matched his draft pedigree. Dybantsa may have remained scoreless from beyond the three-point line, but that didn’t stop him from racking up a whopping 27 points. Seven rebounds are quite the addition as well.
Dybantsa is set up for success in his rookie year in Washington; in a year, we could be viewing the Wizards as one of the more formidable teams in the Eastern Conference, which is not something Washington or their fans have experienced in some time. With any luck, Dybantsa can help turn this franchise around.
Morez Johnson Jr. – F, Dallas Mavericks

Stats vs. Golden State – 27 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists
Former Michigan forward Morez Johnson Jr. hit the ground running in his NBA Summer League debut, putting together a monstrous performance in his first action against the Warriors. Matched up against his college teammate, Johnson put on a show with multiple facets of his game, scoring 27 points and grabbing eight rebounds.
Johnson was one of my favorite prospects in this year’s draft and should earn a role quickly as a key defensive asset with definite offensive upside in Dallas. He’s once again paired up with Dusty May, the team’s new head coach and Johnson’s college head coach, so the two could see some success together early on.
Yaxel Lendeborg – F, Golden State Warriors
Stats vs. Dallas – 21 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists
Just like his college teammate, Morez Johnson Jr., Yaxel Lendeborg enjoyed a fantastic NBA Summer League performance. Selected with the 11th overall pick, Lendeborg should be a key cog in Golden State’s rotation in his first season, and he certainly played like it in this outing.
The 23-year-old was an experienced prospect and provides great upside on both ends of the floor. He’s a name to watch as he aims to outperform his draft position.
Allen Graves – F, Toronto Raptors
Stats vs. Boston – 22 points, 13 rebounds, 3 steals
Allen Graves wasn’t the most well-known prospect coming out of Santa Clara, but the 19th overall pick made sure people would remember him after a stellar NBA Summer League debut. He put in the work on the offensive end and made sure to grab 13 rebounds while doing so.
Toronto traded away some significant depth in their acquisition of superstar forward Kawhi Leonard, so Graves could see some playing time during his rookie season. If he impresses, Allen Graves could become a serious staple of the rotation.
Cameron Boozer – F, Memphis Grizzlies

Stats vs. Chicago – 23 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists
Our final standout is Cameron Boozer, who was the third overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft. Boozer put up a quality showing, amassing 23 points and filling the stat sheet in terms of rebounds and assists.
He should have no trouble making an early impact in the Grizzlies’ frontcourt this season as their future franchise cornerstone. Many considered Boozer to be one of the safest options in the draft, and performances like this one only reinforce that sentiment.
Honorable Mentions
Darryn Peterson – G, Utah Jazz
Hannes Steinbach – C, Charlotte Hornets
Mikel Brown Jr. – G, Brooklyn Nets
Labaron Philon Jr. – G, Philadelphia 76ers
Emanuel Sharp – G, Sacramento Kings
Ebuka Okorie – G, Detroit Pistons
Tarris Reed Jr. – C, San Antonio Spurs
Bruce Thornton – G, Houston Rockets
Bryce Hopkins – F, Denver Nuggets
Meleek Thomas – G, Cleveland Cavaliers
End Of My NBA Summer League Rant
We’ve seen some remarkable stat lines so far this summer, and judging by the amount of talent in the 2026 NBA Draft class, I’d say that trend is far from over. As the college game starts to look more and more like the pros in more ways than one, I believe many college superstars will find their playstyles translate to the NBA with more ease than we’ve seen in the past.
Regardless, those are the top standout performances so far in the 2026 NBA Summer League. More impressive outings are sure to follow these, but that’s just what makes this part of the NBA offseason so exciting.
