Quinten Post was one of the main remaining free agent centers on the market when the Memphis Grizzlies swooped in. They offered him a three-year contract worth $30 million. The Golden State Warriors were presented the chance to match the offer sheet, which they have officially opted not to do.
Who Is Quinten Post?

Post was one of the best second-round picks from the 2024 NBA draft. He established himself as an integral part of the Warriors’ rotation. Post averaged 7.8 points and 3.8 rebounds a game across two seasons with the Warriors. He played in 109 games, averaging about 17 minutes a night.
Post brings high-level shooting from the center position. He shot 40% from three his rookie season on more than four attempts a night. The average dipped to 33% last season, but he is still viewed as one of the premier stretch gives in the league.
Memphis Grizzlies Outlook

The Grizzlies are thin at the center position, with Zach Edey and Isaiah Stewart being the only serviceable centers on the roster. With previous injury concerns, it makes sense to add extra depth.
It is also feasible to have Edey and Post on the floor at the same time, creating a really fun frontcourt of seven-footers.
Memphis is not in a position to contend right now, so adding youth at any position is of value right now. This makes a ton of sense for the Grizzlies and will certainly hurt the Warriors’ rotation.
End Of My Grizzlies Quinten Post Rant

Signing Post may not seem like a big move right now, but the Grizzlies definitely got better. This move adds to the core of young players they are building and will help them reach their end goals much quicker. As for the Warriors, they lose out on someone who could have been a big piece of their rotation this year and beyond. They will now need to rethink their plans at center past 2026-27.
