WWE SummerSlam is this weekend, and is the first two-night rendition of the event. Night one features a singles match for the World Heavyweight Championship. After diminishing the title by wasting PLE spots on celebrities and has-beens, at least Gunther’s upcoming challenger can claim to be a wrestler. CM Punk will struggle again to keep up with an athlete in their prime, so what could save the workhorse championship?
WWE World Heavyweight Championship
In no world is CM Punk worthy of a title shot. He looks slow and out of breath with every match he has had since returning from the company where he bashed this one. The “Second City Saint” is well past his prime, but a more interesting matchup than the pointless bookings, such as Goldberg and Pat McAfee. Neither of those men is a workhorse champion, and neither is CM Punk. With two weeks of storyline after determining the number one contender before SummerSlam, there is but one way to make this interesting.

WWE SummerSlam Prediction
On July 16, 2025, Yahoo! Sports reports an interview with Seth Rollins, in which he discussed the injury that put him on the shelf. “Monday, I was in Birmingham, Alabama, where our specialists are at. We tried to take a look at the knee. There was an imaging — it was a little too swollen, so we’re going to take another look, hopefully in a week or two here in L.A. to try to get some sort of firm diagnosis, and we can go from there. I am not a doctor. I only know my body and what I feel. And what I feel is that this is going to be me out for an extended period of time,” said Rollins.
The injury is reported to be on Rollins’ knee when landing on his feet after a springboard moonsault. The landing looked fine, but it was either a believable work or a shoot. There hasn’t been much chatter about him on television; could this be on purpose?

“The Voice of the Voiceless” is nothing more than a self-appointed martyr to fill CM Punk’s ego. After a couple of chops, he’s destined to look out of place. Fans can already picture the sloppy GTS he will attempt on the big man.
Mr. Money in the Bank can save this match. Rollins typically wrestles through pain, and it didn’t look too serious. This may be a flashbang for the WWE, setting up for a shocking cash-in.

End Of My WWE Rant
A successful cash-in is predicted. Rollins will take the gold back to the faction that the WWE Universe is forgetting about without him. The Paul Heyman guys look to go on a run post-SummerSlam.
