WWE SummerSlam 2026 Night 2 results feature Roman Reigns defending the World Heavyweight Championship against Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens’ surprise return, multiple championship matches, and several major storyline developments.
After Sami Zayn and Finn Balor finished their introductions, the action was cut off by newly reinstated SmackDown general manager Nick Aldis. After losing to Gunther the night before, it was shocking when Aldis announced him as a new participant in the match, but that wasn’t everything. After missing about 18 months due to neck surgery, the crowd surged when Owens made his surprise return.
Owens showed no rust, including a Swanton from the top rope to the floor. It was largely just two guys in the ring, and one competitor rotating in and out of the ring. It lacked the chaos of a fatal four-way, but the pin breakups were top tier. The match needed more time, with each guy getting a moment in the ring, before Owens went on a rampage. He hit Zayn with a stunner to pick up the pinfall victory.
Corbin returned last month by surprisingly attacking the WWE United States Champion, Williams, setting up this title match. Corbin was serenaded with boos as he had Williams on his back early.
Williams had a couple of offensive moments and help from Lil Yachty, but Corbin was dominant nonetheless. The WWE Universe is at the “End of Days” of the tacky, white shag title.
Green and Tiffany Stratton had the first noticeable bumps of the match. Green ate Jade Cargill’s finisher on a ladder set up like a table in the corner, and Stratton took a powerbomb from Lash Legend on a similar spot.
Things escalated to three ladders being erected under the dangling title, and everyone knocking each other off as they powdered. Green was stopped moments earlier by Cargill’s allies, B-Fab and Michin. They tied her up in the ladder earlier, leaving her as the only talent physically touching the ladder. She climbed to the top to become the Interim WWE Women’s World Champion.
There’s only so much Danhausen can do in the ring, so the opening spots were rather vanilla. In this no-disqualification match, JD McDonagh arrived to assist Mysterio.
Danhausen had Minihausens to save the day. This story continues to deep-freeze, with Joe Hendry arriving to level McDonagh. It seemed the tomfoolery was over until Mysterio took pyro to the face when grabbing for the bag.
Daunhausen delivered the same old song and dance, picking up the gimmick victory. He threw the money into the WWE Universe in attendance to finish the segment.
Penta started strongly in this one, including targeting an injured shoulder and giving Gable no room to breathe. Gable had numerous counters into an ankle lock, but none of them stuck.
In true babyface fashion, Gable would not give up, eventually forcing Penta to tap to the ankle lock. His family joined him for the emotional moment, but it finished with a cringeworthy root beer promo, leaving a stain on the situation.
Rollins controlled the early moments of this match; every time Reigns attacked, he reversed it. They fought through the crowd from there, with the referee disregarding the count-out and allowing the use of foreign objects. Furthermore, Reigns powerbombed Rollins through the Spanish announcer’s desk, but like a Fearow in the Pokémon wild, mirror move was used on him. It was his turn to be powerbombed through the other announcer’s desk.
When Rollins and Reigns finally made it back in the ring, they kicked out of each other’s finisher, escalating the drama in the match. The finishers and near-falls went both ways, getting the WWE Universe on their feet. It built towards the referee taking collateral damage.
From there, the finishers were being reversed, with countless incidents followed by a near-fall. Reigns eventually hit a third spear to pick up the victory.
