These WWE Raw results are the last before Backlash. Grudges, a newcomer, a title match, and a contract signing – this show sets up the event this weekend nicely.

Seth Rollins Vs. Bron Breakker – Backlash Build

These WWE Raw results opened with Bron Breakker blindsiding Seth Rollins, while he was on his way to the ring. WWE officials would eventually break them up, but not until Breakker speared Rollins in the middle of the ring. General manager Adam Pearce was heard saying, “Save it for Tampa,” referring to their upcoming match at Backlash.

JD McDonagh Vs. Finn Balor – WWE Raw Results

The first match of the evening was Finn Balor vs. JD McDonagh, accompanied by the rest of Judgement (AAA Mega Champion “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio, WWE Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan, Roxanne Perez, and Raquel Rodriguez). Mysterio was tossed for interfering, which only led to an opportunity for the other members of the faction to get involved. Perez hit Balor with a hammer, leading to the pinfall victory by McDonagh.

Penta & Je’Von Evans Vs. Ethan Page & Rusev

WWE Intercontinental Champion Penta and “The Young OG” Je’Von Evans teamed up to take on “The Bulgarian Brute” Rusev and “All Ego” Ethan Page in tag team action. Rusev’s strength and physicality stole the show, while the other three worked relatively softly. The finish was shocking, with Page pinning Penta for the win.

Sol Ruca Contract Signing

The next segment was Pearce signing Sol Ruca to the Raw roster. The event was quickly interrupted by WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion, “The Man” Becky Lynch. The champ first acted like Ruca wasn’t even there, spewing demands at the general manager.

Ruca ultimately stood up for herself, but was met with an “Who are you?” The brawl led to Lynch accidentally punching Pearce, before taking a finisher from the new signee. It was unfortunate that she botched her own finisher during her big debut against a brand-name star like The Man.

Joe Hendry Vs. Austin Theory – WWE Raw Results

Joe Hendry versus one-half of the WWE World Tag Team Champions, Austin Theory, accompanied by tag partner Logan Paul, was next. It was relatively short, with Paul jumping Hendry while he controlled the match, resulting in the match being thrown out. The Street Profits (Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkings) saved the day, only for Breakker to appear and annihilate them both.

The stars kept coming, with Rollins rushing Breakker at that point, gaining control momentarily. Ford executed a massive high spot, but this was more detrimental than helpful.

Rollins was distracted by the action ringside, which left an opportunity for Breakker. One spear later, and the segment was over. The two will meet at Backlash.

Oba Femi Open Challenge

After introducing the idea last week, “The Ruler” Oba Femi hosted his first open challenge. Otis, accompanied by the rest of Alpha Academy (Akira Tizawa and Maxxine Dupri), answered the call. There was one or two impressive feats of strength, but it was, nonetheless, a squash match.

Americans & Europeans Dressed As Mexicans

The Real El Grande Americano and Los Americanos had a trios match against The Original El Grande Americano and The Creed Brothers dressed in lucha gimmicks. Seeing six white guys pretending to be luchadores on Raw felt corny. They may have been promoting the upcoming mask-vs-mask match in AAA at the end of the month, but it felt rather pointless. It also feels like a waste of six exceptional talents. The Original picked up the pinfall for his team’s victory.

WWE Contract Signing: Reigns Vs. Fatu

WWE World Heavyweight Champion, “The Tribal Chief” Roman Reigns, and “The Samoan Werewolf” Jacob Fatu, met in the ring for the contract signing of their Backlash match. Fatu said he plans on taking over WWE and draining the money from the company, as it has been their family for so long. Reigns retorted that The Samoan Werewolf is beneath him, and the brawl was on.

Fatu ruled the segment, reversing a super-punch with a Tongan death grip. Reigns was lifeless as his Backlash opponent signed the contract and left the ring.
