WWE’s annual Money in the Bank event is only a week away, with the fields of participants revealed on last night’s episode of SmackDown. The fields are as follows:

  • Women’s match: Sol Ruca, Jacy Jayne, Roxanne Perez, Tiffany Stratton, Lola Vice, and Lash Legend
  • Men’s match: Bron Breakker, Je’Von Evans, Penta, Trick Williams, Kevin Owens, and CM Punk

That being said, who wins?

Ms. Money In The Bank: Roxanne Perez

Frankly, Roxanne Perez has been misused in her main roster stint thus far. The former two-time NXT champion has spent much of her time as a pin-eater, which is not what one expects of someone whose epithet is “The Prodigy”.

Perez’s main roster misuse should change soon, however. She found herself on a mini-push of sorts last month, challenging La Catalina for the AAA Reina de Reinas Championship at Worlds Collide. This seemingly signifies WWE’s faith in Perez being a future world champion.

A lack of size shall not hinder Perez in that regard. After all, Alexa Bliss is only 5’0″, and she had multiple world title reigns in the 2010s, the last of which began via Money in the Bank cash-in. Have Perez play the conniver with Judgment Day, help Liv Morgan regain the title, then turn on her when the time is right.

Alternatively, Perez can become the first woman to announce her cash-in ahead of time. Ideally, this should come against Stephanie Vaquer in a battle of Latinas. Put it in, say, Perez’s home state of Texas. Either she wins before a hot local crowd, or the rest of the Judgment Day cost her the match for maximum heat.

Mr. Money In The Bank: Bron Breakker

Remember when Bron Breakker was thought to be WWE’s new “Next Big Thing”? The notion made much sense – after all he is Rick Steiner’s son and Scott Steiner’s uncle. He possesses a ungodly mix of brute strength and blazing speed, all traits carried over from when he played football.

Alas, Breakker’s booking so far has left much to be desired. He has been meandering within the Vision, having not defended the World Tag Team Champions alongside Austin Theory for nearly three months. That should change next week when he wins the Money in the Bank briefcase, and there is a rather obvious ploy for him that should hopefully restore his heat.

It is an open secret that Roman Reigns vs. Oba Femi is the dream match that WWE wants for next year. “The Ruler” alluded to that match potentially during the WrestleMania 42 post-show, and the ideal time and place for it to happen will be at WrestleMania 43 in Saudi Arabia.

Now, wrestling’s biggest event is where the aforementioned ploy kicks in. After a long war, Femi conquers the Tribal Chief at WrestleMania 43 and finally captures main-roster gold. Unfortunately, his moment of triumph is short-lived, as The Vision attacks him. Breakker cashes in and steals the World Heavyweight title to loud boos.

End Of My Money In The Bank Rant

Besides the titular briefcase matches, Money in The Bank will also have three singles matches, including two world title defenses. Reigns defends the World Heavyweight Championship against LA Knight, while Becky Lynch challenges Vaquer. The former match is straight forward, as Knight has become one of many people who are waging war against the reformed Bloodline. Meanwhile, the latter is a dream pairing that pits WWE’s fastest-rising Latin American star against one of the fabled Horsewomen.

Femi will also be in action as he takes on Bronson Reed. The Vision’s Australian brute returned from an injury at last month’s Sunday Night’s Main Event and attacked “The Ruler”, causing a disqualification. Now, both behemoths get to settle their grudge in what may be the night’s hardest-hitting match.
