These WWE SmackDown results include Tiffany Stratton and Kevin Owens winning the final spots in the WWE Money in the Bank Ladder Matches. “Absolute” Ricky Saints and AAA Cruiserweight World Champion Rey Fenix continue their budding championship storyline, while Blake Munroe finally made her SmackDown in-ring debut. This is a complete recap of the October 2, 2026, episode from Denver, Colorado.
The final spot in the WWE Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match was on the line in SmackDown’s opening match. Paxley’s ring IQ and moveset were the highlights of the match, as the trio also worked in believable near-falls, but it wasn’t enough. Stratton broke up a pinfall with a moonsault, leading to her pin over LeRae.
Fenix and Fraxiom (Nathan Frazier and Axiom) teamed to challenge War Raiders (Erik and Ivar) and Saints. This was a frantic match where it was unclear if the referee could even keep track of the legal men. One would be thrown to the outside, only for another to springboard in for an attack.
Saints started a storyline with Fenix a couple of weeks ago centered around his championship, and it continued into this match. He blind-tagged himself into the match, leading to the pinfall victory over the unsuspecting champ.
Zayn started an in-ring promo by claiming a lack of respect and massive underestimation. He demanded the credibility given to champions when Je’Von Evans interrupted him, having already earned a spot in the Money in the Bank Ladder Match. To cut minutes of shallow filler, Evans was interrupted by Penta, as they both wanted the Undisputed WWE Championship. The qualifiers continued their march as WWE United States Champion Trick Williams appeared.
Zayn said the other stars were too green to even be in the same ring as him before taking off up the entrance ramp, where he met Finn Balor. A brawl briefly ensued, but both men were taken out by a surprise attack from “The Ring General” Gunther. He choked them out and threw them around the set before heading back through Gorilla.
After weeks of the match never getting started, Giulia and Monroe finally had one. Despite being outclassed, Monroe picked up the win with an anticlimactic finish. She simply swept her opponent’s feet out from under her on the top rope, and it was clearly a work, but fans were led to believe she went unconscious.
Owens was the one to take things up a notch, pulling out a table for use on Gargano, but LeRae halted it. The Poison Pixie didn’t stop there, trying to tie Rhodes up, but she was ultimately the one put through the table. All three had exhilarating false finishes, and they did a good job incorporating the whole group as much as possible.
Rhodes seemingly had the win after hitting Owens with a Cross Rhodes, but was pulled out of the ring by Orton. This took The American Nightmare out of the picture, fighting The Viper on the outside. The commotion led to a near-fall for Gargano, but it wasn’t enough.
Rhodes dove into the ring to break up Owens’ pinfall over Gargano, but, once again, was grabbed at the ankles by Orton. A pop-up powerbomb led to the final entrant in the WWE Money in the Bank Ladder Match.
These WWE SmackDown results finalized the entrants in the Money in the Bank Ladder Matches. The men’s match will feature Owens, Penta, Williams, Evans, and CM Punk. The women’s match will showcase Stratton, Lash Legend, Roxanne Perez, Jacy Jayne, Lola Vice, and Sol Ruca. Only one episode remains before the Premium Live Event.
