Looking ahead to the 2025 NFL season, the Minnesota Vikings could be a team with significant changes at the game’s most crucial position. Quarterback Sam Darnold led the team to 14 wins during the 2024 campaign, but rookie J.J. McCarthy is expected to return to the lineup by training camp.
We don’t know who will quarterback the Vikings in 2025, but we know their opponents. Here’s a quick look at who Minnesota will play next season.
NFC North

As always, Minnesota will play a home-and-home series with the three other teams in the NFC North: the Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions, and Green Bay Packers. Minnesota won both meetings against Chicago and Green Bay in 2024, but the Lions beat them twice.
AFC North

The Vikings will play all four teams in the AFC North, including two home games and two on the road. They will play the Baltimore Ravens and the Cincinnati Bengals at home, while they will face the Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers in their respective stadiums.
NFC East

Some familiar foes will visit U.S. Bank Stadium in 2025. Next season, the Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Commanders will travel to Minnesota. Meanwhile, the Vikings will play road games in New York against the Giants and Dallas when facing the Cowboys.
Two More NFC Opponents

Minnesota will also play the two other second-place finishers in the remaining NFC divisions: the Atlanta Falcons and Seattle Seahawks. Both teams narrowly missed the playoffs this season and will look to bounce back next season. The Vikings will host Atlanta and travel to Seattle.
One More AFC Team

Since the NFL introduced the 17-game season, each team has played one extra out-of-conference opponent. Next season, the Vikings will play the Los Angeles Chargers on the road. The Vikings are 8-7 all-time against L.A. This game will also be the first time head coach Jim Harbaugh will face Minnesota as the leader of the Chargers. Harbaugh was a potential head coaching candidate for the Vikings before they hired Kevin O’Connell.
End Of Rant

This off-season will be an interesting one for the Minnesota Vikings. They have a massive decision to make regarding Sam Darnold and the organization’s future. It won’t be easy to repeat their 14-3 record, but with Kevin O’Connell leading the way, I truly believe the sky is the limit for the Vikes.
