The Philadelphia Eagles are about to embark on another playoff journey, beginning Sunday afternoon against the San Francisco 49ers. The reigning Super Bowl champions do not come without their flaws, however. The offensive schemes and play-calling have been scrutinized by fans all season long.

Kevin Patullo, the first-time play caller who took over for Kellen Moore this offseason, has been the direct target of the fans. It may seem too early to start picking and choosing who’s on the coaching staff for next season, but Patullo has been that concerning. An interesting option just became available for a potential offensive coordinator opening, and it may be a perfect fit for Philadelphia.

Stefanski Available

Kevin Stefanski was fired from his job as the head coach of the Cleveland Browns on Monday. The two-time coach of the year winner was let go after back-to-back disappointing seasons. He was never dealt the best hand with the Browns, but he showed signs of brilliance. The typical rotating cycle at QB in Cleveland made it impossible to establish an identity, but Stefanski certainly had an impact.

The Browns will begin a new search for a head coach, but what are the options for their former top guy? It was reported Monday night that Stefanski will speak with the Atlanta Falcons, Tennessee Titans, and New York Giants regarding their Head Coach openings. He is a hot commodity for a top gig, but what if Stefanski doesn’t get one of those jobs? Will he take a lesser role and enter the coaching carousel next year? If he decides to take that route, the Eagles might be the perfect spot.

Perfect Fit In Philly?

Stefanski was born in the Philadelphia area and even has ties to the Eagles organization. He was once an intern under Andy Reid during the 2005 offseason. His first step into the door in the NFL, could he perhaps retrace his steps in 2026? The concerns with Philadelphia’s current offense are valid. There is no reason for a team with so much talent to consistently find themselves going three-and-out or punting without holding a solid possession.

Stefanski would be thrown into coaching the best group of players he’s had through his tenure in the NFL. If he fails to land a head coaching job, getting to be the offensive coordinator on a Super Bowl contender with pro bowlers galore has to be intriguing. Another potential tie to Philadelphia would be the recent joint practices held between the two teams. Stefanski and Eagles HC Nick Sirianni have linked up the past couple of seasons for yearly joint practices during training camp and preseason.

End Of My Philadelphia Eagles Rant

Stefanski appears to be heading for a head coaching job, but if he doesn’t land one this offseason, then the Eagles should be all over him. There are almost too many connections for Philadelphia and Stefanski not to partner up. The connection with Sirianni shouldn’t go unnoticed, either; the two seem to have a good relationship. Adding Stefanski would give the Eagles an all-star level coordinator group with Vic Fangio anchoring the defensive side of the ball.
