2027 NFL Draft QB Class: Is The Arch Manning-Julian Sayin Group The Best Ever?

Looking ahead to the 2027 NFL Draft, Arch Manning is the projected No. 1 overall pick, but that was never really up for debate. He’s a Manning, he has talent and lots of untapped potential, but where he lands in the NFL will determine just how successful he becomes.

We’ve seen plenty of highly touted prospects end up on really bad teams and eventually find themselves out of the league or sitting on the bench waiting for another opportunity. We’ve also seen a few of these guys resurrect their careers by getting into the right system, with Sam Darnold being the current poster child.

Just like in business, location is everything. But in Arch’s case, he doesn’t have a choice…or does he?

Uncle Eli didn’t want to be a Charger, and he never was. So anything is possible, right? If the Mannings don’t like the team holding the No. 1 pick,  would Arch stay another year at Texas? Who knows, but let’s take a look at the teams that could be fighting for the opportunity to draft Arch Manning next April.

With the 2026 season about to kick off, the race for the No. 1 pick is already beginning to take shape.

Teams That Could Be In The Arch Manning Sweepstakes

Arizona Cardinals

The 2026 Arizona Cardinals enter the Mike LaFleur era with Jacoby Brissett, Gardner Minshew II, and Carson Beck as the top three quarterbacks. Nothing against those guys, but that doesn’t exactly scream “long-term answer.”

We might get to see what Beck can do before the season ends, and you never know – he could fool around and win a few games, taking the Cardinals out of the race. The same could be said about Brissett and Minshew. None of them really feel like a true long-term answer at quarterback.

On top of that the Cardinals are in the NFC West, where they’ll have to battle three of the better teams in football.

Arizona does have enough talent on the roster that it’s not out of the question for them to win seven or eight games. But with a rookie head coach and no true long-term answer at quarterback, they look like one of the early favorites in the Arch Manning sweepstakes heading into the season.

And let’s be honest—a Manning-to-Marvin Harrison Jr. connection would be pretty fun to watch.

New York Jets

The Jets are coming off a 3-14 season and enter Year 2 of the Aaron Glenn era with Geno Smith, Cade Klubnik, and Brady Cook as the top three quarterbacks on the roster.

Geno returns to the team that drafted him, looking to bounce back after a forgettable season with the Raiders. It’ll be interesting to see what he has left because the Jets actually have a talented roster.

This team feels very boom-or-bust. The “boom” probably looks like eight or nine wins, which would still be a huge jump from last year’s three-win season.

But just like Arizona, the Jets don’t have a clear long-term answer at quarterback. Klubnik could absolutely develop into that guy over time, but if Geno struggles or misses time with an injury, it could lead to another Manning playing in the Big Apple.

And is that really something Patriots fans want to see?

The Early Favorites…For Now

Before any games have been played, I think the Jets and Cardinals have the best chance to end up with the No. 1 overall pick—not because they’re the worst teams in football, but because neither franchise has a long-term solution at quarterback.

Both teams have young talent, so anything can happen. That’s why they play the games.

This is something worth watching from both ends. Which teams will enter the Arch Manning sweepstakes as the season unfolds? And what if Arch somehow takes himself out of the draft entirely?

End Of Arch Manning Rant

Time will tell this story better than I can, and we’ll all get to watch it unfold together. It’s shaping up to be one of the most interesting storylines in football.

Where will the next Manning prodigy end up?

Time to hurry up…and wait.
