The 2027 NFL Draft QB class is already generating buzz as one of the most talented groups in recent memory. It features the Texas Longhorns Arch Manning, Oregon Ducks Dante MooreOhio State Buckeyes Julian Sayin, South Carolina Gamecocks Landon Sellers, and Notre Dame Fighting Irish’s CJ Carr.

Fernando Mendoza and Ty Simpson were the only QBs taken in Round 1 this year. It is worth noting that many thought this class would be stronger at the top with a lot more early entries. Several players either got paid to stay or had a down year, so they wanted to improve their stock. Let’s break down the loaded 2027 NFL Draft QB class featuring Manning, Sayin, and more elite prospects.

Arch Manning Draft Projections

Manning threw for 3,163 yards with 26 touchdowns, had seven interceptions, had a QBR of 78, and had a 61.4% completion percentage with the Longhorns. He has great size, mobility, arm talent, and pocket awareness.

Manning opens as the early favorite to be the first pick in the 2027 NFL Draft. Quarterbacks have gone first in eight of the past nine drafts.

Why Dante Moore is the 2027 NFL Draft’s Ultimate Boom-or-Bust QB

2027 NFL Draft QB Class
Oregon Ducks quarterback Dante Moore (5) draws back to pass Friday, Jan. 9, 2026, during the Peach Bowl and semifinal game of the College Football Playoff against the Indiana Hoosiers at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

Moore threw for 3,046 yards with 28 touchdowns, eight interceptions, and a 79 QBR with the Ducks. He played for the UCLA Bruins in 2023.

Moore profiles as a true pocket passer with a big arm without much rushing upside. His success will heavily depend on landing with a strong head coach/offensive coordinator and a reliable offensive line. A poor situation could easily stall his growth. He has footwork and processing issues.

Why LaNorris Sellers Is The Gamecocks’ Ultimate Dual-Threat Weapon

Sellers threw for 2,437 yards passing with 13 touchdowns and eight interceptions for the Gamecocks. His career-high was against the Clemson Tigers, where Sellers threw for 381 yards.

Sellers has the ability to make plays both through the air and on the ground to keep defenses guessing. He is a key playmaker in South Carolina’s offense and needs to work on refining his mechanics.

Julian Sayin Scouting Report

2027 NFL Draft QB Class
Ohio State Buckeyes quarterback Julian Sayin (10) scrambles during the first half of the Big Ten Conference championship game against the Indiana Hoosiers at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis on Dec. 6, 2025.

Sayin’s calling card is accuracy, and it showed in his first season as a starter. He led all FBS quarterbacks in completion percentage (77.0%) while passing for 3,610 yards, 32 passing touchdowns, and eight interceptions for the Buckeyes.

The main concern is whether Sayin’s really an elite processor or just a one-read quarterback. There are a lot of traits in his game, though, that will have teams comparing him to a lower-volume version of Drew Brees.

How Redshirt Freshman CJ Carr Became Notre Dame’s Savior

Carr threw for 2,700 passing yards with 24 touchdowns and six interceptions for the Fighting Irish. Carr arrived in 2023 and was fourth-string in 2024. He saw action in one game as a backup (didn’t register any stats) and got his first action as a starter as a redshirt freshman in 2025.

Carr is a natural-born quarterback with an abundance of arm talent. He makes adjustments at the line, checks his protections, and regularly attacks the defense. He has great eye manipulation, smooth transition reading, and goes through the process of elimination very well pre-snap.

End Of My 2027 QB Class Rant

2027 NFL Draft QB Class
Texas Longhorns quarterback Arch Manning (16) leaves the field following the NCAA football game against the Ohio State Buckeyes at Ohio Stadium on Aug. 30, 2025. Ohio State won 14-7.

Manning and Carr are the pocket archetype. Sellers is the dual-threat. Moore and Sayin are the transfer-portal wildcards. NFL teams will pay a premium for whoever ends 2026 as the cleanest projection.

Player development at quarterback might as well go out the window when you have a fresh set of ballers coming in next year. The 2027 NFL Draft QB class could ultimately be remembered as one of the deepest quarterback groups in modern NFL Draft history.
