Legacy is everything. How a player is remembered throughout history largely depends on their legacy as a competitor. Sometimes all it takes is one win on the world’s biggest stage to cement your legacy in football history.

For the remaining four quarterbacks in the NFL playoffs, what would a Super Bowl win do for each of their resumes as superstar quarterbacks?

Patrick Mahomes – Legacy Continues For A Young Dynasty

There is no doubt that Patrick Mahomes has had one of the best starts to a career possible. At just 29, Mahomes has already won three Super Bowls (while also earning Super Bowl MVP in each), two MVP seasons, and was named an all-pro three times. If Mahomes were to complete the NFL’s first-ever three-peat, he would leave no question in the mind of football fans that he is the second-greatest quarterback to play this game.

The Chiefs QB will need to prove his longevity for much longer if he is to jump Tom Brady in the all-time rankings. As of right now, however, Mahomes is doing more than enough to show that he could be the greatest of all time one day.

Josh Allen – Proves He Can Hang With The Best

After reaching the Conference Championship game in 2020, Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills went on to lose in the Divisional Round the next three years in a row. Losing to both Patrick Mahomes and Joe Burrow, people were starting to wonder if Josh Allen just didn’t have what it takes to be a Super Bowl-winning quarterback.

If Allen can help his team win the big game in New Orleans, he will firmly cement himself as the second-best quarterback in the league. It’s never easy winning a Super Bowl amid a dynasty, just ask Peyton Manning who was only able to steal two during the Patriot’s reign. If Josh Allen was able to beat this generation’s best quarterback en route to a Super Bowl win, conversations will start to be had about Josh Allen’s successful legacy at just the age of 28.

Jalen Hurts – Redemption

It was only two seasons ago that Jalen Hurts and company found themselves in the Super Bowl against the Kansas City Chiefs. Ultimately, they fell just short, losing a heartbreaking game 35-38. While Jalen Hurts played great in that game throwing for 300 yards and a touchdown, people seem to forget about his performance and focus on the loss as a whole.

Not only getting back to the big game but taking home the Lombardi trophy would be the perfect redemption for Jalen Hurts. He would prove to the world that he is a Super Bowl-caliber quarterback who is capable of winning big games. As someone who has constantly been overlooked during his career, Hurts would love to add a Super Bowl win to his young legacy.

Jayden Daniels – Making History

Jayden Daniels is chasing history in his rookie season. No rookie QB has ever started or won a Super Bowl. Daniels is just one game away from making history, and if he were to steal a win in New Orleans he would have undoubtedly the best rookie season for a quarterback ever. The things that Jayden Daniels and the rest of the Commanders have done this season are improbable and quite frankly entertaining.

This team has been unbelievably fun to watch this postseason. From game-winning drives to beating the number-one seed, the Commanders have been nothing short of fun to watch. Jayden Daniels has been the much-needed catalyst for this Washinton team. From 4-13 with the second overall pick, to the NFC Championship game is unheard of. JD5 is just two wins away from making history, if he can do so it could be the start of an extraordinary legacy for the young QB.
