Will The Jets Trade For This Star Receiver?

The New York Jets had a very underwhelming season when they saw their quarterback Aaron Rodgers tear his Achilles on the first drive, and he would miss the entire year. 

Rodgers is expected to return for the start of next season and needs help in the receiver room. Rodgers will have one of the best young wide receivers in the league to throw to in Garrett Wilson, but the Jets still need to upgrade at that position.

During ESPN's morning show Get Up on Friday, former Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum proposed a trade that would send Jets linebacker C.J. Mosley to the Dallas Cowboys for wide receiver Brandin Cooks. 

If I'm the Jets, I make this trade in a heartbeat. The Jets need an upgrade at the receiver position, and Cooks is still pretty good for his age. Cooks will be 31 years old this season and had 54 receptions, 657 yards, and eight touchdowns in his first season in Dallas last year. 

Cooks is used to moving from team to team since he has been on five teams: the New Orleans Saints, New England Patriots, Los Angeles Rams, Houston Texans, and Cowboys in his first ten seasons, and has never spent more than three seasons on any of those teams. 

Cooks changing teams again will only affect him a little since he is used to it, and coming to the Jets could help get the offense rolling. 

Of course, giving up Mosley would hurt since he is still an outstanding player, but he is getting older and will be 32 this season, and for a linebacker, that is the age we start to see them wear down. 

The Jets have pretty good defense in the first place, so trading a strength for a weakness would help the team. 

The Jets need to do anything they can to get the offense scoring points this upcoming season, and their answer just can't be adding Aaron Rodgers.
