Who Are The Five Oldest Eagles Players?

The Philadelphia Eagles are mostly led by young stars but have a handful of veteran leaders over the age of 30. These veteran players have had a lot of success for the Eagles and should continue to make an impact in 2022. Who are the five oldest Eagles players?

Darius Slay: 31

Darius Slay is the only one on the list who was not on the Eagles Super Bowl Team in 2017. He got his career started as a cornerback in 2013 with the Detroit Lions. Slay made the Pro Bowl three times in Detroit and led the league in interceptions in 2017.

The Eagles traded for Slay in March of 2020 for a third and fifth round draft pick. This was a good move for the Eagles as Slay continues to play at a high level. In 2021, he led the Eagles defense with three interceptions and made his fourth career Pro Bowl.

Fletcher Cox: 31

Fletcher Cox was selected by the Eagles in 2012 to play defensive tackle. He played defensive end for a couple of seasons during the Chip Kelly era 3-4 defensive scheme. By 2014, Cox was one of the most dominant defenders in the NFL.

He made four All-Pro selections starting in 2014 and was selected to the Pro-Bowl six straight seasons from 2015-2020. Cox has a career 443 tackles, 58 sacks, 12 fumble recoveries, and three touchdowns over the past ten seasons. He was brought back on a one-year deal, so this could be the final chance Eagles fans can see him play in Philadelphia.

Lane Johnson: 32

The Eagles drafted Lane Johnson with the fourth overall pick in 2013 to play tackle. It was a draft year that was not rich in talent, but the Eagles made a smart move. Johnson started all 16 games as a rookie and has 112 career starts over nine years.

Johnson has two All-Pro selections and three Pro-Bowl selections. He has fully embraced the Philly attitude and culture. Johnson gained national attention for the underdog masks during the 2017/18 postseason in which the Eagles were not favored in a single playoff game, but still won the Super Bowl.

Jason Kelce: 34

Jason Kelce is 34 years old and was a sixth-round pick by the Eagles in 2011. He was drafted to play center and started all 16 games as a rookie. Kelce has a consecutive start streak of 122 games dating back to the 2014 season.

Kelce has been one of the Eagles’ best players in franchise history at his position. He has four First-team All-Pro Honors and five Pro Bowl selections. It could likely be his final year in Philadelphia, but he will always be remembered for his legendary Super Bowl parade speech.

Brandon Graham: 34

Brandon Graham is currently the oldest member of the Eagles ahead of Jason Kelce by about 7 months. Graham was drafted by the Eagles in 2010 making him the longest tenured player on the team. He originally played defensive end until coach Chip Kelly moved him to linebacker in 2013.

When head coach Doug Pederson took over in 2016, Graham moved back to his natural position of defensive end. This is when he finally started showing is worth as a first-round pick. Graham was a Second-team All-Pro in 2016 and was selected to the Pro Bowl in 2020. He missed nearly all the 2021 season due to injury, but it will be great to see him back this year.

The careers of these five players are nearing the end but expect each of them to play at a high level in 2022.  Check out our latest content and don’t forget to follow our Facebook and Twitter pages for more Eagles coverage.
