Where To Find The Next Puka Nacua?
Discovering talented and promising players who have been overlooked can be challenging. NFL scouts invest significant time reviewing game footage and attending pro days to identify these hidden gems. These players may be selected late in the draft or even undrafted before being signed as free agents. That "diamond in the rough" player like Puka Nacua or "legend in the shadows" like Tom Brady could be just one draft pick away.
Senior Bowl Standout
One of the wide receivers who performed exceptionally well during the Senior Bowl is not getting the attention he deserves. His name is Ryan Flournoy. He is a transfer wide receiver who graduated from Southeast Missouri State. Flournoy was a standout during the Senior Bowl and a captain at Southeast Missouri State.
He also achieved an outstanding Relative Athletic Score (RAS) of 9.88 out of 10. Flournoy has an impressive 4.44-second forty-yard dash time and an exceptional vertical jump of 41 inches, both of which are higher than Antonio Brown's. Moreover, his 3-cone drill time of 6.66 seconds is tied with AB's.
The Measurables
Ryan Flournoy is 6'1", weighs 202 pounds, and has a wingspan of 76 and 3/8 inches. He is a skilled outside X receiver and possesses a lot of talent. However, because he comes from an FCS school, he will likely be selected on day two or day three of the draft. But any NFL fan knows that late-round picks can sometimes be diamonds in the rough.
The Film
After watching Flournoy's film and the Senior Bowl highlights, it's clear that his talents are exceptional. He's quick and elusive and possesses excellent route-running skills. He would make an outstanding red zone threat, but he can also catch deep passes.
I strongly believe he is destined to become a star in the National Football League. Many teams are interested in him, and I highly recommend that you check him out if you get the chance. FCS players like Flournoy bring a hunger to the NFL that might be missing in other prospects, and it is worth giving him a look at this year's draft.
