Three Players Who Can Return The Los Angeles Rams To Greatness

In 2022, the Los Angeles Rams won Super Bowl LVI with a star-studded team. Now, just two years later, they have seen drastic roster turnover at almost every position and need athletes who will step up to fill key roles left by the departures. Below are three players who can be key contributors for the Rams this season.

Jordan Fuller, Free Safety - Third Season with the Rams

Jordan Fuller's experience will make him invaluable in the secondary this fall. He is coming off a hamstring injury that kept him sidelined for all but three games last season. Reports on his rehab have been positive and he has looked good in OTAs. This is good news for the Rams, who will rely on the veteran after an off-season that saw their core defensive backs decimated through the losses of Jalen Ramsey, David Long Jr., Troy Hill, Nick Scott, and Taylor Rapp.

Other than Robert Rochell, Fuller is the only member of the secondary that has been in the league for more than one season, so you can expect his fellow DBs to look to him for leadership. If Fuller can stay healthy this season, he’ll be a great benefactor to the Rams' defense.

Demarcus Robinson, Wide Receiver - First Season with the Rams

The Rams' new addition at wide receiver could be exactly what their offense needs to improve their passing game. The offense lacked depth in the receiving corps last year, as Cooper Kupp and Tyler Higbee combined for more than 45% of the team’s total targets, which is ridiculous considering that Kupp missed eight games of the season!

Los Angeles sorely needed someone to step up and fill the void when Kupp and Allen Robinson went down with injuries, but the replacements left much to be desired.

Demarcus Robinson can be a solid starting WR for McVay's offense, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he earns the #2 WR slot this off-season. Also, it should be noted that Robinson has been active for every game of his NFL career.

Considering that the Rams' 2022 season was wrecked due to injuries, a consistently healthy player like Robinson could be just what the Rams need.

Alaric Jackson, Left Tackle - Second Season with the Rams

The LA's offensive line was atrocious in 2022, allowing 59 sacks; the third most of any team in the league. Look to Alaric Jackson to help improve the O-line by protecting Stafford’s blindside.

Jackson took over LT duties after Joe Noteboom tore his Achilles in Week 6 and performed well in the next two games (allowing two sacks but only three pressures. Stats from: PFF) before going down with an Achilles tear of his own.

Though his time at LT was short, he impressed a lot of people and has a good chance of winning the starting job from Noteboom this offseason.

Final Thoughts

These players could have important roles for the Rams next season, but the bulk of the team's success will still rely on star players like Aaron Donald, Kupp, and Stafford. All three stars missed time last season and are hoping for a healthier 2023 campaign. If they are able to stay healthy and players like Fuller, Robinson, and Jackson step up their game, then Los Angeles fans can expect a great season from their Rams.
