The Denver Broncos Are Making A Huge Change

The Denver Broncos are one of the NFL's most popular teams. They have won three Super Bowls and appeared in five more, and they have had many Hall-Of-Famers, such as quarterbacks John Elway and Peyton Manning, defensive backs Champ Bailey and Steve Atwater, and receiver Shannon Sharpe.

But the jerseys they all played in at one point are on their way out. The team has announced that it will debut new uniforms next season replacing their current jerseys, which have been worn since 1997.

History of the Broncos Wardrobe

The Denver Broncos originally donned brown and yellow for the team's first couple of seasons before switching to it's beloved "Orange Crush" jerseys in 1968. These jerseys, which have been modified and used as throwback/color rush in recent years, were primarily worn from 1968-1997 and fans have been calling a return to that look.

In 1997, the team introduced their current logo and uniforms worn today. After switching from royal blue to navy and ditching orange as its primary color, the team created an orange throwback a few years later and promoted it to full-time in 2012, which is the current set today.

The Denver Broncos won back-to-back Super Bowls in the first two seasons wearing the new jerseys. The uniform will always be remembered for the winning it brought. The team's switch to orange in 2012 came with Peyton Manning's arrival and was followed by a Super Bowl appearance a year later and another Super Bowl victory in 2015.

But with no playoff appearances since and a rebuild to come in Denver, many fans have been demanding new uniforms for a few years. Some have called their set outdated, and others have been grateful but have understood that now is the time for change.

With a new era of Broncos football ahead, it is exciting to think about all the possibilities that Denver can make out of their new set. The hope is that the team does not underwealm, like the New York Jets did in 2018 with their refresh that was met negativly. But for now, we can only wait until April to find out what the newly drafted Denver Broncos will wear.
