Ranking The Eagles’ 5 Best Offseason Acquisitions So Far

The Philadelphia Eagles are off to an impressive 6-0 start to the 2022 season. A major factor to the hot start is their offseason pickups are working out well. Here is ranking the Eagles’ five best offseason acquisitions so far.

5. Kyzir White

Kyzir White was added in free agency to upgrade the linebacker group. He has played decently but is still learning the defense. White is second on the team with 37 tackles. He has four pass deflections but has not forced a turnover, sack, or recovered a fumble yet. White is an upgrade over what the Eagles had last year but is being overshadowed by linebacker T.J. Edwards who is having a great season. Hopefully White can get back to last year’s version of himself for the Chargers where he led the team in tackles and had three interceptions.

4. C.J. Gardner-Johnson

The Eagles made a trade with the Saints to bring in the safety, C.J. Gardner-Johnson. He has played well this season and especially had a good game against the Cowboys in Week Six where he recorded two interceptions. Gardner-Johnson is tied with cornerback Darius Slay with three interceptions on the year which leads the team. C.J. has 31 tackles so far which is third on the team and has four pass deflections.

3. Haason Reddick

Philadelphia added Haason Reddick in free agency to provide a boost to the pass rush which was lacking a year ago. The former Temple Owl leads the Eagles in sacks with 4.5. He also leads the team in forced fumbles with three. Reddick was the difference maker in the Week Four win over the Jaguars where he was a takeaway machine and earned NFC Defensive Player of the Week honors. Reddick is not an every down player but he makes his presence known when he is on the field.

2. James Bradberry

James Bradberry was added in free agency after being released by the Giants. The former Carolina Panther and New York Giant cornerback has been the perfect complement to CB Darius Slay. Bradberry leads the Eagles with nine pass deflections which is tied for the league lead. He has recorded 15 tackles and two interceptions with one of them being returned for a touchdown in Week One. Bradberry is allowing a completion on 41% of his targets which ranks fifth in the NFL. The Eagles’ elite cornerback duo has slowed down some of the scarier offenses in the league so far.

1. A.J. Brown

A.J. Brown is the only offensive player on this list because the Eagles offense was only lacking a true number one receiver coming into the season. Brown has so far met the expectations and has helped to elevate the Eagles’ passing attack.

Brown leads the Eagles with 503 receiving yards and 23 first downs. His 33 receptions and two touchdowns are tied with Devonta Smith for the team lead. Brown’s 503 receiving yards are sixth in the entire NFL and third in the NFC. Overall, A.J. Brown has provided quarterback Jalen Hurts with a reliable target and has made Hurts better. The offense has looked much improved in 2022 and Brown is a major reason why.
