New York Giants Vs. Detroit Lions Injury Report Week 11

The Giants must be on high alert when they face the Detroit Lions in MetLife Stadium. The Lions arrive with a 3-6 record but with enough offensive firepower to give the 7-2 Giants’ defense many concerns.

Week 11 Giants Injury Report

The New York Giants intend to activate guard Shane Lemieux from injured reserve before Saturday’s 4:00 p.m. ET deadline. He is also expected to start in place of rookie Joshua Ezeudu, who is dealing with a neck injury. Shane has missed the team’s first nine-game after undergoing surgery to repair an injured toe during the preseason.

Shane Lemieux also missed most of the 2021 season due to a partially torn patellar tendon and has taken just 17 offensive snaps since 2020.

It’s been a hard couple years,” Lemieux said this week, via the New York Post. “I’m a ballplayer. I love football. Being on the field is the best feeling in the world. When you get taken away from the game, you realize how important it is to you. I’m ready to get back out there, for sure.” Shane Lemieux – New York Giants

When Shane takes the field on Sunday, he will be 15 pounds heavier than when he last played. But, then, he shot up from 295 to 310, where he intends to stay this season.

I’m naturally a skinny guy,” Lemieux said. “Anything I could to keep my weight up. I needed all the extra calories I could get.” Shane Lemieux – New York Giants

Shane also expects to be a more intelligent player when he returns to the field against the Detroit Lions.

I’m just more confident,” he said. “All the time on IR, I’ve game-planned like I’m playing the game. That’s really just mentally put me in a spot where I’m more mature and have a better football IQ than I did my rookie year.” Shane Lemieux – New York Giants

In addition to Ezeudu, who is questionable, rookie right tackle Evan Neal (knee) has been ruled out in Week 11 verse the Detroit Lions.

Detroit Lions

The final weekly injury report for the Detroit Lions as the team heads to New York to face the Giants in Week 11 features just two players ruled out with injuries. Unfortunately, they both play the same position.

The team has ruled out defensive ends Charles Harris and Josh Paschal. Harris suffered a groin injury sometime after Wednesday’s practice. Paschal, the second-round rookie who had been playing well as a starter over Harris, did not practice with a knee injury all week.

Four others are questionable, a list that includes starting safety DeShon Elliott. No. 5 is advancing through the concussion protocol. However, he was not at the portion of practice open to the media and was listed as limited all week.

The rest of the questionable players, all of whom are starters:

C Frank Ragnow (foot) WR Josh Reynolds (back) LB Malcolm Rodriguez (elbow)

Every other player is healthy enough not to need any injury designation and was a full participant all week outside of a scheduled veteran rest day for LT Taylor Decker and a minor illness for RB Jamaal Williams.
