The New York Giants slipped by the Houston Texans with a 24-16 win in a Week ten game at MetLife Stadium. The score should have been more unbalanced, but some drops and untimely penalties killed a few offensive drives.

Is Dexter Lawrence among the best interior defensive lineman in all of football? Dexter is not just about winning inside but also about dominating against both the run and the pass. He is literally accredited with two half-sacks, ending the day with one sack and five tackles (one for a loss), and he also had a pass defended. His five quarterback hits also helped the pass rush to get home on Texans quarterback Davis Mills and Chase Daniel for the few snaps he played.

Jason Pinnock
With Safety Xavier McKinney out and rookie Dane Belton starting, that meant an increased role for reserve defensive back Jason Pinnock. He responded with four tackles (three solos, one for a loss), two QB hits, and 1.5 sacks, as Wink Martindale frequently used him as an additional pass rusher. Pinnock only played 23 defensive snaps making his performance worthy of a mention and deserving of a place in this article.

Kayvon Thibodeaux
Kayvon Thibodeaux took a step back this week; the rookie EDGE rusher looks lethargic. It seems he is not getting the proper calls from the officials when being held. He is neither selling them to raise the refs’ attention nor complaining when he is to let the officials look for it when it happens again. With that said, his motor seems to die down when those calls are not given. He will continue to be held, and his lack of production will continue to be minimal.
Kenny Golladay
Wide Receiver Kenny Golladay returned on Sunday, and saying it didn’t go well would be an understatement. The $72 million receiver took just 26 snaps before being benched in the second half. That resulted from two incompletions on two targets, one clear drop, and one arguable drop. Kenny expressed frustration after the game but vowed to continue working through the issues, for which he had no real answer.

Daniel Jones & Saquon Barkley
Daniel Jones and Saquon Barkley both put together one of their most productive outings of the season in the win. Meanwhile, on the other side of the ball, the defense picked up four sacks and two turnovers in order to help the Giants secure the victory. Starting strong has been an issue for the Giants this season, but not on Sunday. The defense began the game with a three-and-out, including a sack, and quickly got the ball into the offense’s hands. The offense responded with a 10-play, 68-yard touchdown drive that ended with Daniel Jones finding Lawrence Cager for his first career touchdown from nine yards out. Then when the Giants got the ball to start the second half, Barkley and Jones led the offense down the field quickly, with Darius Slayton making a catch and taking it 54 yards into the end zone for a score. “I think certainly after the game, you got to enjoy the wins and reflect a little bit on where we are,” said Jones. “Certainly, it’s a lot better on this side of it than how we’ve been in years past. You got to enjoy that and appreciate it, but at the same time, know there’s still a lot we need to improve on, there’s a lot still out there for us to do, especially on offense. Barkley carried a career-high 35 times for 152 yards and scored a touchdown as the surprising Giants returned from their bye week and beat the Houston Texans 24-16 on Sunday.
