Chiefs Draft Skyy Moore: Initial Reactions

After trading back to pick 54 in the second round, the Chiefs have looked to improve their receiving core with this pick. They’ve selected Skyy Moore from Western Michigan. Last season, Moore had 95 catches for 1,292 yards and ten touchdowns, averaging 13.6 yards per catch.

Drafting Moore gives Mahomes yet another weapon on this Chiefs’ offense with players like Travis Kelce and Marquez Valdes-Scantling. Here are my initial reactions to the Chiefs drafting Skyy Moore:

Skyy Moore = One Of The Best Players To Draft With That Pick

Skyy Moore was one of the best players to snag with this pick out of all the players available. Moore has shown to have strong hands, always being able to reel the catch in with ease. Along with this, he has shown good competitive toughness, with scouts saying that he’ll challenge you with power. Moore also has good separation vertically, utilizing his speed in this area, and has provided great value in route running with his elusiveness, agility, and speed.

Moore is also someone who can make big plays, which is someone you always want, no matter the offense. With that said, no one should be mad with the Chiefs drafting Skyy Moore; they have found someone suitable for this Chiefs’ offense.

Moore Could Add Good Value To The Chiefs’ Offense

Skyy Moore could add some good value to the Chiefs’ offense as the probable fourth/fifth option. He has shown in games that he can win one-on-one and make those big plays, as stated earlier in the article. Moore probably won’t have a big rookie outing with the number of weapons the Chiefs have, but I feel he can add good value and make good plays when needed for this Chiefs’ offense. Moore can be a contributor that could grow into a starter with time. Only time will tell for his development.
