3 Ravens To Watch Against The Tennessee Titans

The Ravens are kicking off their 2022 preseason on Thursday against the Tennessee Titans. With the preseason finally kicking off, we’re looking at three players in particular.

The Ravens kick off their 2022 preseason and continued pursuit of exhibition perfection against the Tennessee Titans on Thursday night. With the exception of typical bumps and bruises, Baltimore has remained relatively unscathed on the injury front thus far. Devin Duvernay will most likely miss the game while recovering from a bone bruise suffered in the M&T Bank evening practice. The team will also be without 2022 first round draft pick Tyler Linderbaum. He suffered an injury to his foot during practice earlier in the week.

With this being the first game of the preseason, don’t expect a lengthy appearance by majority of the starters. Most will play a single series and call it a night. The older veterans may not even suit up. This game gives the coaching staff a glimpse of their depth and most recent draft class.

James Proche, Wide Receiver, Ravens Sixth Rounder In 2020

This is an important year for James Proche. Last year was an up and down year for the second-year receiver. When Proche made it into the game, he was making plays and rarely dropped anything that touched his hands. While never publicly acknowledged, Proche allegedly missed playing time due to his off-the-field approach and practice habits. Hopefully, Proche has no hiccups that cause him to land in the infamous John Harbaugh dog-house.

Now heading into his third season, and with Devin Duvernay sidelined and Rashod Bateman firmly entrenched as the top wide receiver, this is where Proche can make his mark. Second year wide receiver Tylan Wallace will be aiming to get more reps at wide receiver this year as well as a plethora of rookie undrafted wide receivers nipping at Proche’s heels. Expect Proche to be targeted early and often by Lamar Jackson or Tyler Huntley.

Justice Hill, Running Back, Ravens Fourth Rounder In 2019

Justice Hill is in the midst of bouncing back from an Achilles tear that sidelined him all of the 2021 season. In this year’s draft, Baltimore selected running back Tyler Badie out of Missouri in the sixth round. Free agent power runner Mike Davis was also signed in the offseason. Hill’s health remained in question heading into training camp.

Thus far, Hill has been turning heads for the majority of training camp. The speedy scat-back turned special teams ace has shown little signs of rust. Hill has displayed pre-injury burst and has put on a show in pass catching drills as well as full team drills. Still, he certainly has competition to make the team.

While taking into consideration the aforementioned Davis and Badie, Baltimore added running back Corey Clement. Clement has the ability to make plays as well and provided a spark off the bench for the Philadelphia Eagles when he was healthy. JK Dobbins being activated off the PUP list has zero bearing on Hill’s roster status. Dobbins is the unquestioned starter when he is deemed ready.

Kyle Hamilton, Safety, Ravens First-Round Pick In 2022

The fourteenth overall pick of the 2022 NFL Draft has been at the epicenter of crazed Ravens fans and media the last week or two. The criticism of the young playmaker has been extreme and often over-reactionary. While Hamilton has had a better week leading up to the Titans game this week, all eyes will be on the former Golden-Domer. This will be Hamilton’s first live game action against NFL level competition.

We all know what Hamilton is capable of. The tape never lies. The most important thing is how he has picked up the defense. During rookie OTAs, Hamilton donned the green dot during full team drills. While seeing him make an amazing, diving interception or a big hit would be nice, having Hamilton show his football IQ and awareness will be a huge boost of confidence for not only the fans, but the team as well.
