The team needs a plan for the o-line, and offensive guard Olaivavega Ioane fits the bill as the top pick in this Steelers 2026 mock draft. At 6’4″, 330 pounds, he has the brute strength and ability to keep rushers framed up. Outside of mediocre mobility and flexibility, there’s not much to complain about in the scouting report. His power and hands will have an immediate impact on any team.
The team needs a safety, and certainly won’t have access to one as highly touted as AJ Haulcy later in this Pittsburgh 2026 mock draft. His physicality, paired with his blue-chip ball skills, could have him disrupting in coverage immediately. Haulcy ranked no worse than the 93rd percentile for impact, INTs, PBUs, and tackles.
When paired with his well-rounded skillset, his 6’4″ body isn’t worth risking leaving on the board. The Steelers, for the first time in years, have two legitimate high-end receivers, so wide receiver Ja’Kobi Lane would have the opportunity to add skills and knowledge to his already promising base.
At this point in the Pittsburgh 2026 mock draft, cornerback Keionte Scott is the best available talent, in general. He ranks above average in most key traits at the position. His explosiveness and technique make Scott a promising prospect, with his ball skills just a step behind.
The team is hoping to continue adding pieces to keep quarterback Aaron Rodgers happy for one more year. OT Isiah World is a versatile piece for that line. After starting at RT in 2022, World moved to the left after transferring to Oregon in 2025. At 6’8′, 318 pounds, he also has the makings of a serviceable guard.
The Steelers have needed a quarterback for the better part of a decade. While undersized, quarterback Garrett Nussmeier’s mechanics, pocket management, accuracy, and processing project him to be the next drafted at the position. With the team’s quarterback situation and draft thus far, Nussmeier is worth a flyer.
Pittsburgh has its here-and-now linebackers in TJ Watt and Alex Highsmith, but the not-so-distant future is still a foggy road. Kendal Daniels may not be a lock for the role, but his size and physicality separate him from the remaining group. At 6’5″, 242 pounds, Daniels is the perfect block of linebacking clay in this Steelers 2026 mock draft.
With three selections in the third round, and this being Pittsburgh’s second pick in the fifth round, it’d make sense to shop the fringes. The Miami Dolphins are a desperate organization that needs players at almost every position, and they accepted this trade in the simulator.
Projected to go much higher all over the consensus board, linebacker Bryce Boettcher is a backup plan for Daniels, drafted earlier. Getting this deep into the draft, his 90th percentile vertical jump and 91st percentile broad jump stand out.
Although not the biggest quarterback you’ll see, Cade Klubnik has proven serviceable, showing his numerous talents. His toughness, combined with an ability to create and manage the pocket, makes him more than worth a stab for a desperate team this late in the draft.
