The Baltimore Orioles have stumbled to an 11–18 start in the 2025 season, and much of their early-season trouble can be traced to a relentless wave of injuries. What began with a few spring setbacks has spiraled into a long list of key absences. The combination of poor performance and depleted depth has left the team scrambling to stay competitive.
Here’s a full breakdown of the Orioles’ current injured list and projected timelines for return:
10-Day Injured List
Jordan Westburg — Left Hamstring Strain
Placed on IL: April 28 (retroactive to April 27)
Westburg was one of Baltimore’s most consistent infield bats prior to the injury. His hamstring strain is considered mild, and the team is hopeful for a short stint. A return in early May seems realistic.
Gary Sánchez — Right Wrist Inflammation
Placed on IL: April 28
Sánchez has provided occasional pop from the backup catcher spot but is now sidelined with wrist inflammation. The timeline for his return is currently unclear, but it is not expected to be a long-term absence.
Tyler O’Neill — Neck Inflammation
Placed on IL: April 26 (retroactive to April 24)
This is the 15th IL stint of O’Neill’s career, highlighting the durability concerns that followed him to Baltimore. He was brought in to replace the ever-available Anthony Santander, but staying on the field remains his biggest challenge. O’Neill is expected back in early May.

15-Day Injured List
Zach Eflin — Right Lat Strain
Placed on IL: April 8
Eflin is progressing through his rehab and recently completed his second bullpen session on April 29. He is expected to face live hitters in early May, setting him up for a mid-to-late May return. His absence has been deeply felt in a rotation that lacks depth.
Andrew Kittredge — Left Knee Debridement
Placed on IL: March 27 (retroactive to March 24)
Kittredge underwent a cleanup procedure on his left knee and is still working his way back. If recovery goes as planned, he could return to the bullpen by late May.
60-Day Injured List
Grayson Rodriguez — Right Elbow Inflammation and Lateral Strain
Placed on IL: March 27 (retroactive to March 24)
Once considered the Orioles’ future ace, Rodriguez continues to battle durability issues. He has not thrown since being shut down and remains without a concrete timeline. His long-term development remains a significant concern.
Colton Cowser — Left Thumb Fracture
Placed on IL: March 31
Cowser suffered the injury sliding into first base on March 30. The bone is healing well, and he remains active in conditioning work. A return in late May or early June is likely.

Albert Suárez — Right Shoulder (Subscapularis) Strain
Placed on IL: March 30 (retroactive to March 29)
Suárez is not expected back until June or later. He has not resumed throwing and is waiting on a follow-up MRI to confirm healing before beginning a throwing program.
Kyle Bradish — Recovery from Tommy John Surgery
Placed on IL: Preseason
Bradish underwent Tommy John surgery last June. He threw his first bullpen on April 12 and followed it up with another side session on April 28. If recovery continues smoothly, he could return in August.
Tyler Wells — Recovery from UCL Injury
Placed on IL: Preseason
Wells is following a similar path to Bradish, recovering from a 2024 UCL injury. He threw off a mound on April 27 and is scheduled for a side session on May 2. A late-summer return remains the target.
End Of My Orioles Injuries Rant
Injuries have destroyed the whole Orioles roster, from starting pitchers to everyday hitters to high-leverage relievers. Baltimore came into the season with high expectations, but due to poor performance and injuries, the Orioles are severely underperforming. When the injured players get healthy, that should provide a much-needed boost to the struggling squad. If Baltimore wants to turn it around, they’ll need to get healthy fast.
