NHL rumors have been running rampant across the entire league, and the Philadelphia Flyers have been active. They haven’t been able to close a major deal, but that isn’t due to a lack of effort. Danny Briere has been pursuing every major move that makes sense for the Flyers’ timeline. Here are three moves that still make sense at this point in the offseason.

Trade Rasmus Ristolainen

Rasmus Ristolainen has continued to be thrown into NHL trade rumors this offseason. Philadelphia appears to be searching for at least a first-rounder in return, but it is still unknown if they will get that. His performance in the playoffs last season showed how much value he truly brings. If they can’t reach the requested price or if they fail to acquire another high-salary player, it would be better to keep Ristolainen around.

Trade For Dylan Larkin

Dylan Larkin was immediately linked to the Flyers when he requested a trade from the Detroit Red Wings. Things have not exactly been great for Philadelphia since then. He has a very limited trade list that, as of now, still does not feature the Flyers. If that changes, Larkin is a no-brainer. The 1C they have been searching for at a very reasonable price, salary-wise. The cost to acquire him is expected to be very steep.

Trade For Alexander Nikishin

The Carolina Hurricanes appear open for business when it comes to their 24-year-old defenseman. Alexander Nikishin would fill a major role that the Flyers are still missing. A power play QB with potential to be a true number one defenseman. This is a move that would, similar to Larkin, come at a steep price tag.

End Of My Philadelphia Flyers NHL Rumors Rant

The Flyers are ready to be aggressive and improve this young roster. Briere has taken chances all offseason long to bring in talent, but nothing has emerged yet. Leo Carlsson, Claude Giroux, and Zach Werenski have all been pursued by the Philadelphia GM. These three moves are still on the table as the offseason winds down in the NHL.
