NFL Week 3 is wrapped up. Let’s dive into some shocking losses, shocking plays, and shocking players.
Thursday Night football seemed to be an embarrassment to all of the Green Bay Packers fans, as they lost 35-14 to the Atlanta Falcons. However, I wouldn’t label it so much as an embarrassment, but more so a “wake up” for the Falcons. The Falcons welcomed back Michael Penix Jr. back to the field and Bijan Robinson 194 rushing yards with 2 touchdowns and Drake London had 194 receiving yards spread out between 9 catches.
The questions roaming the air for the Packers isn’t amongst the players themselves, but coach Matt LaFleur. Will he be a coach let go if their season doesn’t turn around soon? Let’s see how their performance against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers brings next week.
NFL Week 3 Key Highlights
The San Francisco 49ers successfully accomplished a Hook and Ladder play that resulted in an 82 yard touchdown against the Cardinals. This, amongst other successful plays, secured the Niners third win of the season (36-30).
After a game of back and forth, keeping all of the fans on their toes, Baltimore Ravens kicker, Tyler Loop, soared a 56-yard winning field goal in the final seconds against the Dallas Cowboys. (34-31)
A Shocking Seattle Loss
The Seattle Seahawks came into this week’s game confident for an “easy win” with their 12 game winning streak, but I think the Washington Commanders were ready to overcome their 2-game losing streak. Would a home field advantage assist with the Commanders first win of the season?
The Commanders put up the first points of the game in the 1st quarter with a 6-yard pass completion between Mariota and White. With the Seahawks trailing for the majority of the game, and trying to pull a win by scoring the most points of the game in the 4th quarter, the Commanders end up sneaking by with the win by 2 points (33-31).
The Seahawks welcomed back Sam Darnold with open arms after having a few weeks off for recovery from his injury in week 1. I think the healing period went well with his comeback resulting in 379 passing yards and 4 touchdowns. Incredible stats for coming off an injury.

A Tight Sunday Night
I don’t think anyone expected this SNF game to be as close as intense as what the Los Angeles Rams and Denver Broncos brought us. The Rams had some good momentum putting up 16 points in the first half with the Broncos trailing at 0. Fast forward to the 4th quarter with 9 minutes left in the game, and the Broncos galloped their speed. Within the last 2 minutes, the Rams racked up 5 penalties that did not assist with what they were trying to accomplish.
Down to the final 47 seconds, and Bo Nix sneaks it in for a marvelous quarterback keep. The Rams picked up the pace and FAST. At the final 2 seconds of the game, a receiving touchdown was all that was needed for them to win, and Matthew Stafford throws an interception right to Broncos safety, Talanoa Hufanga. What had everyone on the edge of their seat, was over in one play. The Broncos took the win 30-26.
Regardless of the loss, Rams quarterback, Matthew Stafford, threw an EXCEPTIONAL game. He finished the night out with 390 yards, 32 of those throws being within the first half of the game. Wide Receiver, Devante Adams, caught 7 receptions with a total of 137 yards. This pushes him up to 332 yards just within the last two games. Is he the puzzle piece the Rams have been needing? When Puka Nacua is cleared, we’ll have to observe whether his stats stay the same, or if these two can become the Sonic and Knuckles equivalent of wide receivers.
NFL Week 3 Key Moments
In an update from last week, it was announced that New York Giants’ quarterback, Jaxson Dart, is officially out for the season with a season-ending injury. He will be going in for surgery, but will not be able to return this season. Jameis Winston will be stepping in as first string QB, and with JJ McCarthy coming in on a trade, will serve as the back up.
A SHOCKING defeat for MNF, as the Chicago Bears mauled the Philadelphia Eagles in a 27-7 upset. I’m sure most fans were expecting a complete opposite, especially with the Bears main quarterback, Caleb Williams, and second quarterback, Tyson Bagent, out with injury. However, QB3, Case Keenum stepped UP to the plate. After 1009 days of not seeing the field, this secret weapon pulled out 24-34 completions with 247 yards and 2 touchdowns.

End Of My NFL Week 3 Rant
The final results of the NFL Week 3 puts the following teams in an “undefeated” position:
- Buffalo Bills
- Las Vegas Raiders
- Kansas City Chiefs
- Minnesota Vikings
- San Francisco 49ers
Which means it also put the following teams down to 0-3:
- Miami Dolphins
- Tennessee Titans
- Houston Texans
- Los Angeles Chargers
- Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The AFC West, AFC North, and the NFC North, with holding the most wins in the conferences (8). Will more conferences drop next week? Will new ones be added? Who out of those 5 teams will continue on the “undefeated” streak and who will drop to 0-4?
Tune in next week for the NFL Week 4 recap.
