No one is safe from NFL off-season rumors, including career Baltimore Ravens tight end Mark Andrews. The Ravens have a lot of options to consider. They can consider resigning Andrews, releasing him, or trading him, and the deadline is upon us. Technically, they could let him stay for the year and walk, but that is the worst decision.

NFL Rumors At Tight End

March 16, 2025 is a crossroads for the Baltimore Ravens. Andrews has a cap hit of $16.9 million in this final year of his contract, but the Ravens would save $11 million in cap space by trading or releasing him before this date. Baltimore has tight end Isaiah Likely still on the roster, who made the best of every opportunity last season. Whether it was starting when Andrews was hurt or subbing in on a backup role, Likely has earned a look.

The Los Angeles Chargers are the front-runners in the rumour mill. The team obtained tight end Will Dissly last season after six years in Seattle, but with only two touchdowns last season, Andrews is a clear upgrade who brings a Super Bowl-winning mentality. He has averaged 15 games played, 790 yards, and seven touchdowns per season, with a career high 11-TDs last season. What would be the maximum return on an elite tight end, and are the Chargers willing to risk taking it past Sunday? The Jacksonville Jaguars also need a tight end, but the Chargers are much further ahead in their team’s development, so they should have a higher priority on the 29-year-old.

End Of My NFL Tight End Rumors Rant

Ravens fans grilled him for a costly dropped pass in the playoffs but now seem to be forgiving him, even wishing to re-sign him. The other side the fans are not considering is the benefit to their team of getting rid of him. The team would get cap relief, and if they find a trade partner, a return as well. If Likely doesn’t work out this season, they can always go after Andrews in free agency next year. It’s a good idea for the Ravens and a team in need. Both things can be true at once.
