New York Jets fans expect a better 2025 campaign after being disappointed by Aaron Rodgers and company. Some fans were worried after quarterback Justin Fields hurt his toe during practice Thursday.
The hope and optimism surrounding the football team were destroyed after hearing the news. It’s like the other team that plays in East Rutherford, New Jersey, can never have anything good.
Fans of the team need to pump the brakes for the upcoming season and temper their expectations.
A History Of Losing
Getting excited about a team’s chances of doing something special is what the NFL offseason is all about. Fans and some sports analysts will hype up teams, regardless of their previous history. Enter the New York Jets.
Despite numerous head coaching and regime changes, New York hasn’t done anything significant.
New York has failed to make the postseason since the 2010 season, when the team had Rex Ryan and Mark Sanchez. Woody Johnson’s organization has shuffled through coaches like Todd Bowles, Adam Gase, and Robert Saleh. Now the former Jet Aaron Glenn is supposed to change their fortune.
Glenn has a lot of work to do, and it will be tough sledding in the AFC East. Buffalo has established itself as the top dog, and Miami has some playoff experience under Mike McDaniel. New England is the only team New York can beat this upcoming season.
It’s a sad look for the franchise, especially because of the talented players they possess. Star players like Ahmad “Sauce” Gardner and Garrett Wilson were compensated for their production. Unfortunately, neither has had an opportunity to showcase their skills in a meaningful playoff game.
Nothing will change for the franchise, as they have a losing mentality. Disappointment will knock at the door and cripple New York.
Unproven Coach And Quarterback

Another concern is the coach and quarterback. Glenn did wonders in Detroit, working under Dan Campbell. He has never been a head coach and will have to pull New York out of the gutter.
Fields is on his third team since entering the league in 2021. The former Ohio State Buckeye has been inconsistent during his career. There are better proven quarterbacks in the AFC.
New York couldn’t get anything going with one of the best quarterbacks in NFL history. Fields hasn’t led a team to the playoffs and is still finding himself. What’s going to change with him under center? Nothing.
End Of New York Jets Rant
I understand my post may sound harsh. I am the type of person who needs to see it to believe it. The New York Jets must show me they have changed and can compete.
The past couple of seasons show why it’s important to prove it on the football field. It was “great” when Rodgers came to town until it wasn’t. New York failed to capitalize on having a talented young team and one of the best throwers of the football.
I don’t think much will change this upcoming season. New York Jets, strap up your helmets, get suited up, and prove this naysayer wrong.
