The NFL continued to lose some of its top stars in Week 15, this time due to a Davante Adams injury. The Los Angeles Rams may have beaten the Detroit Lions 41-34 in a shootout at home, but the star wide receiver was forced out of the game and did not return. With Super Bowl aspirations surrounding the team, exactly how worried should fans be about the Adams injury?

Davante Adams Injury

With 12:42 left in the fourth quarter, quarterback Matthew Stafford launched a pass over double coverage, but it didn’t quite connect with the streaking Adams. Despite the two defenders, the injury did appear to be non-contact. Stafford’s deep threat fell in agony. Initially taking help off the field, USA Today reports he walked back to the locker room without assistance.

Outlook After The Davante Adams Injury

Adams was quickly designated as questionable, but never returned. The report also covered the likelihood of him being available for Week 16 against the Seattle Seahawks. This AFC West rivalry game has enormous playoff implications. Both teams have identical 11-3 records, so a head-to-head win would all but lock them as the NFC West winners.

Los Angeles head coach Sean McVay commented after the game. “He was optimistic. He knows his body really well,” McVay said of Adams. “We’ll see what that means. I can’t imagine that’s good for Thursday with just the short amount of time, but I certainly wouldn’t rule him out quite yet. But it didn’t look good.”
