This was a head-scratching thing to contemplate. Credibility is not given. Respect in this sport is earned through years of dedicated training and experience, which Paul unfortunately did not possess.
While he showed talent, he didn’t have the history to garner respect. To complicate matters further, Paul sought to boost his credibility by challenging a former boxing legend who was no longer in his prime and was physically outmatched by the younger fighter. It seemed like a clever strategy at the time, but it didn’t work as intended. Some fans stayed supportive. Other fans lost respect, and some grew curious to see how he would fare against a genuine contender.
The anticipation for Paul to pick his next opponent has sparked a major watch party. Who would agree to face Paul, allowing him to boost his credibility a bit? Paul was struggling to find the right contender and needed an effective strategy. This is when Julio Chavez Jr. entered the picture. This choice still raised some eyebrows, but it was certainly an improvement over his previous decision. A few have given their projections on the outcome of the upcoming bout.
