It’s a new era for the Chicago Bears as the team moves on to their third head coach since 2018. The Bears hired Ben Johnson earlier this month following a disappointing 2024 season. Johnson had been the offensive coordinator for the Detroit Lions since 2022.
So, who will Johnson face in his first year as the leader of his new squad? Here’s a quick look at who the Chicago Bears will play during the 2025 campaign.
As always, Chicago plays two games against the three other teams in the NFC North. That includes the Detroit Lions, Green Bay Packers, and the Minnesota Vikings. The Bears struggled against division opponents this season, going 1-5 inside the NFC North. Their lone win came against the Green Bay Packers in the final week of the regular season.
Chicago will play all four teams in the AFC North in 2025. Two games will take place at Soldier Field, while the other two will be road trips for the Bears. The two home games are against the Cleveland Browns and the Pittsburgh Steelers, meaning the road games are in Baltimore and Cincinnati.
Chicago had a 3-9 record against teams in the NFC last season. They’ll try to improve that mark in 2025 when they face four tough teams in the NFC East. The Bears will play road games in Washington and Philadelphia. Meanwhile, the Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants will visit Chicago next season.
The Bears will play every other NFC team that finished last in their division last year – including the New Orleans Saints and the San Fransico 49ers. The Saints will play in Chicago, while the Bears will travel to face the Niners. Chicago lost their last meeting with the Saints in 2023. Chicago also dropped their last game against San Fransico in December 2024.
With the addition of the 17th game, each team plays another team from outside their conference. Next year, the Bears will go head-to-head against the Las Vegas Raiders. This will be a road game for the Bears. These two teams have played 17 times, with the Bears winning nine of those matchups.
The Bears are hoping this head and quarterback duo will be a winning one. Rookie QB Caleb Williams showed a lot of promise in his first pro season and should develop nicely in year two under the Ben Johnson offense. Chicago has been looking for its first NFC North title since 2018.
