As the college football season reaches its midpoint, the mounting pressure raises the question of which coaches will face dismissal and which ones will manage to endure the challenges ahead.

The win over the Arkansas Razorbacks last weekend kept Hugh Freeze afloat, but does it really make a difference with wins over Arkansas and Kentucky? That’s a big question.
Auburn is currently 4-4 with a 1-4 SEC record, and even a victory against the Wildcats might not secure Freeze’s job. Still, a win feels safer than a loss, as it seems the loser of this game could be without a coach next season.
On the bright side, a win against Kentucky puts Freeze one step closer to earning a bowl game, but will that be enough to save him?
This coaching move would be a puzzling one, given that Jonathan Smith is in his second season, yet Spartan fans are already looking towards another coach. His overall record is just 8-12 in his first 20 games, and he has a 3-11 record in the Big Ten.
This season is going to be critical for Smith, as they simply can’t afford a four or five-game losing streak. Would the administration actually fire a coach after just his second season? It’s all a wait-and-see situation in East Lansing.
At the end of the day, the season remains uncertain, with many variables affecting these coaches and others as well.
If the situation continues to deteriorate and the program struggles, changes could be made among the mentioned coaches and potentially others. This may become one of the wildest head coaching cycles we’ve seen in quite some time.
