The 2025 NFL season is officially over, and the offseason is upon us. Free agency is set to begin on March 11th, giving teams just over a month until they shake up their rosters. Here’s every NFL team’s biggest need in free agency, and who they could target. First, we’ll look at the NFC East.

Philadelphia Eagles: Cornerback

The Eagles’ biggest weakness this season was the cornerback position. Cooper DeJean and Quinyon Mitchell are still great pieces, but Adoree Jackson is set to be a free agent, and it’s unlikely Philly will keep him around.

It’s also worth noting that safety Reed Blankenship could hit free agency this offseason as well. The Eagles could be hurting on defense, but landing a corner can help alleviate that.

Notable cornerbacks that could become available are Trevon Diggs, Jamel Dean, Amik Robertson, and Jimmie Ward. While these players aren’t long-term solutions, Philly is still a win-now team. They can get a band-aid now and then draft a corner in the middle rounds of the draft.

Dallas Cowboys: Edge

Assuming the Cowboys keep wide receiver George Pickens, the edge rusher will be their biggest need. They traded Micah Parsons last August and now have Kenny Clark and Quinnen Williams as a result. Their run defense improved, but they ranked dead last in passing yards allowed in 2025.

Dallas ranked 25th in the NFL in sacks, with 35 on the year. They need to replace Parsons now, which isn’t an easy task. It’s likely they’ll target an edge player in the Draft, but there are some strong options for them in free agency.

Trey Hendrickson is set to hit the market, along with Khalil Mack, Joey Bosa, and Haason Reddick. Hendrickson is the clear home run signing here and could slot in fairly easily. It’s always possible they trade for the Las Vegas Raiders’ star, Maxx Crosby.

Washington Commanders: Wide Receiver

The Commanders traded for Deebo Samuel ahead of the 2025 season, but now he could hit the market if they don’t re-sign him. Terry McLaurin is their clear number one, but he missed time due to injury. They’re extremely low on receiver depth and need to find another weapon for Jayden Daniels.

If the Cowboys don’t retain George Pickens, he’s the golden goose of wide receivers in free agency. If they do keep him, Washington has other options.

The top option for the Commanders could be Mike Evans. It’s rumored he’ll be leaving the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He can bring a veteran presence and reliable hands alongside McLaurin. Other notable options are Christian Kirk, Jauan Jennings, and Jahan Dotson.

New York Giants: Offensive Line

The Giants’ offensive line saw a complete turnaround in 2025. They ranked ninth in the NFL by the end of the year, but will likely undergo some changes now. Right tackle Jermaine Eleumunor is set to hit free agency, as is guard Greg Van Roten.

The first name the Giants should look to is Baltimore Ravens center Tyler Linderbaum. New York’s new coach, John Harbaugh, has worked with him for the last four years, and he’s about to hit the market. He’s an immediate upgrade over John Michael Schmitz.

New York should re-sign Eleumunor in free agency. He’s been a strong piece of the line and is worth giving a new contract. Regarding the guard position, the Cleveland Browns’ pair of Joel Bitonio and Wyatt Teller may become available. If they don’t want to make many splashes, re-signing Van Roten and keeping the line mostly the same, save for Linderbaum, could be a great move.

End Of My NFL Free Agency Rant

NFL free agency is a massive event. It’s the first taste of excitement for fans following the Super Bowl, and it builds hype for the Draft. With so much coaching turnover this year, we could see a ton of different moves.
