Frank Lampard was a great Chelsea player because of his amazing midfield goal-scoring record, playing consistency, and elite fitness. He was a player who covered immense ground during matches as a box-to-box midfielder. Lampard could also unlock defences to set up goals with his precise passing.
The fact that Lampard is Chelsea’s record scorer with 211 goals is quite astonishing. Admittedly, he did play many more games for Chelsea than the likes of Drogba, but 200+ goals for a midfielder is something special. Lampard’s goals helped Chelsea win six Premier League titles, four FA Cups, two League Cups, one Champions League, and one Europa League trophy.
Gianfranco Zola was a majestic Italian playmaker who lit up Stamford Bridge with his sublime technique, free-kick mastery, and immense creativity. Zola enthralled the Blues faithful with his back-heel volleys and other inventive trickery.
