While the pro wrestling world was shocked at watching Seth Rollins’ turn heel in WrestleMania 41 on Saturday, one person was overjoyed: Becky Lynch.
Lynch, who is married to Rollins in real life, was caught on camera at the very moment Rollins joined forces with Paul Heyman. There have been rumors that Lynch might make an appearance on WrestleMania 41’s second night on Sunday, April 20. No firm word has been released ahead of Sunday’s action, so there’s a possibility she makes a surprise appearance.
There is a spot for Lynch should she get in the ring. Bayley, who was penciled in to join up with Lyra Valkyria to face WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez, was attacked backstage.
This all played out on the pre-show ahead of Saturday night’s card. Raw General Manager Adam Pearce told Valkyria she had 24 hours to find a new tag team partner.
Lynch has been out of action for a period of time, enjoying time as a first-time mother and promoting her memoir. Based on her response to Rollins’ actions, it might be time for Lynch to make an in-ring return.
Still, watching Lynch’s reaction gave WWE fans something to chew on a bit. Might a heel turn also be in her future? Time will tell.
Speaking of time, Rollins was in the right place at the right time to join up with Paul Heyman. Heyman, who came to the ring supporting CM Punk, delivered low blows to both Punk and Roman Reigns. The “Wise Man” had handed Reigns a steel chair, which he promptly planted on Punk’s back.
With Rollins’ back turned, Heyman handed Reigns the now-dented chair. Heyman had another idea in mind, stepping behind Reigns to sink him to his knees. Rollins appeared to know what had happened. He stretched out his right hand and Heyman gave him the steel chair.
Rollins then waited for Reigns to try and get to his feet, only to slam that steel chair into his back. Heyman stood their like a proud papa watching his son deliver this dirty deed. Rollins and Heyman eventually left the ring, walking back to the “Gorilla Position” and smiling all the way.
This shocking turn of events also might lead Heyman to have a role with Lynch, too. It would be something to have this WWE power couple in Lynch and Rollins lean into support from Heyman. The “Wise Man” might adjust his strategies in helping both of them.
It’s very rare to see a manager with women wrestlers in today’s WWE. Fans might want to closely watch Sunday night’s main event between WWE World Champion Cody Rhodes and challenger John Cena. Could a new faction involving Heyman, Rollins, Cena, and The Rock be in the future? This would be a compelling storyline coming out of WrestleMania 41.
Fans in the United States can tune into Sunday night’s action on Peacock while international viewers can do so on Netflix.
Anything is possible in the world of the WWE. Lynch’s return on the grandest stage in professional wrestling could open up a new chapter in her career.
It would be great to see Lynch back in the ring. She has a lot more to give when it comes to the WWE. Lynch also could use a little advice from Heyman as well. Seeing her and Rollins together with Heyman can make for some excellent in-ring promos.
Lynch’s mic work needs some sprucing up anyways. Getting Heyman to help her adds even more drama to an already-dramatic Sunday card at WrestleMania 41. Watch and see what happens.
