Ashton Jeanty gave the Las Vegas Raiders and their fanbase a serious scare Sunday afternoon. Despite the initial fears, the star running back avoided serious injury after leaving practice early. Here’s everything we know.

Jeanty suffered what was called a “lower-leg injury” during Raiders practice on Sunday. It happened when he was diving for a pass and collided with a fellow Las Vegas teammate.

Jeanty was unable to put any pressure on his leg and was helped off the field by trainers. The entire Raiders team followed up by taking a knee and saying a prayer.

The Raiders and their fans can now breathe a sigh of relief. ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting that Jeanty suffered a sprained ankle, avoiding long-term injury. The team is still unsure how long he will be out.

Jeanty is obviously the main feature of the Raiders’ running back room, but they aren’t completely finished if he has to miss some time.

Mike Washington Jr., a rookie out of Arkansas, has looked legit through preseason and training camp. He has 137 rushing yards through his first two preseason games.

Las Vegas seems pretty confident they have something in Washington. He may play a bigger role than expected in his rookie season, even if Jeanty is healthy.

Overall, the Raiders and their fans received really good news late Sunday night. Their franchise running back avoided serious injury and shouldn’t miss too much time.

End Of My Ashton Jeanty Injury Update Rant

The Raiders aren’t completely off the hook when it comes to Jeanty and his health, but this could’ve been so much worse for Las Vegas. Yes, they have a promising rookie who could fill some of that void, but there’s nothing like having your star running back out on the field.

Hopefully this injury won’t keep Jeanty out of action for too long. The NFL regular season is just a few short weeks away, more updates regarding Jeanty and his health will be provided as that time nears.
