In some worrying news for Arsenal fans, the Saudi Pro League side, Al-Nassr, are after Gabriel Magalhaes, who has been a key player for the team.
According to talkSPORT, Al-Nassr are already in contact with Magalhaes in hopes of signing him. The club are reportedly ready to offer the star defender a €20million salary.
If Magalhaes was to agree to leave and join Al-Nassr, he would be gaining three times the amount of his current salary.
The report also claimed that Arsenal are keen on keeping Magalhaes with them. The club’s sporting director, Gabriel Berta, will be the one leading the extension talks.
Magalhaes’s current deal with Arsenal is set to end in 2027, which makes the English side hopeful of reaching a new deal.
Even if Magalhaes decided to join Al-Nassr, Arsenal would come out as winners. The club won’t let go of their star defender for any offer that is less than £100m.
If Magalhaes was sold for this price, things won’t be so terrible for Arsenal. After all, the financial gains would be enough to find a replacement.
So far, Magalhaes actually wants to stay at the club and focus on this current season. His eyes are set on helping Arsenal bolster their hopes of winning the Champions League.
Magalhaes, however, won’t mind joining Saudi Pro League in the future.
It would be a wise decision for the 27-year-old to stay at the club. The fans absolutely love him, and he might not find the same amount of support if he moved to Al-Nassr.
In addition to this, he is still young. It would be understandable if he joined Saudi Pro League if he was in his thirties, but right now it is better for him to stay.
He is a key player for them, especially with the 41 matches he played this season. He also has five goals and one assist under his name.
Simply put, if Magalhaes wants to have a legacy, he should stay. If he wants to earn more money, then he should head to Al-Nassr.
The club should act quickly if they want to keep Magalhaes with them. They would need him to stay focused for their upcoming matches instead of thinking of whether his contract would be extended or not.
