Chelsea FC are looking to sign a striker to solve their attacking problems, but they might need to sell an entire XI to make this happen.

Why Chelsea Needs To Let Go Of Players?

According to The Daily Mail, if Chelsea wants to sign their dream striker, they will have to comply with the Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) restrictions.

In addition to this, the club still needs to have more funds, and this can only be possible through selling some players.

Who Are The Players Chelsea FC Might Sell?

The publication has also named some of the players that the Blues could try and sell to land a decent striker.

The players who might be sold are: Kepa Arrizabalaga, Axel Disasi, Alfie Gilchrist, Trevoh Chalobah, Ben Chilwell, Raheem Sterling, Joax Felix, Carney Chukwuemeka, Renato Veiga, David Datro Fofana, Armando Broja, Deivid Washington.

Chukwuemeka is on a loan at Borussia Dortmund with a buy option. Broja, who is loaned at Everton, and Washington, who is loaned at Santos, also have a buy option. This makes it a possibility that the buying option could be activated.

More Players Could Be Sold

This list of players who can form their own XI includes other players who might be sold despite not being on a loan.

Christopher Nkunku and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall could also be sold if the right offer arrived, especially since they haven’t been getting enough playing minutes. One player that the club isn’t planning to let go of is Enzo Fernandez.

The News Confirmed By Fabrizio Romano

According to TeamTalk, Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that the club is looking to sell eight or more players. He said the following through his YouTube channel:

“Something important to explain is that Chelsea will now work hard on sales in order to obviously have everything in place for the Financial Fair Play rules and also for sustainability, something really important for Chelsea. So, remember how many players they have on loan, Kepa [Arrizabalaga] and many others so Chelsea will try to sell, according to my information, seven to eight players as soon as possible to make some money, to get new funds and then reinvest in a striker.”

He also emphasized how the club is very keen on signing a striker:

“The striker position will be crucial, striker and winger will be two really important positions for Chelsea. But especially the striker, there is the focus and Chelsea will invest in a new striker in the summer.”

Chelsea Are Already Bringing In Players

With all this transfer talk, the Blues are still signing players. They have already signed Geovany Quenda and Dario Essugo from Sporting. Romano also commented on this:

“They signed Quenda for the future, they signed Essugo for the present but the striker will be crucial and selling players will be the next step.”

Chelsea Should Sell Players

It would be the right move for Chelsea to sell some of their players. They have plenty of them and it is time to let go of some.

Instead of loaning out one player after another, Chelsea should prioritize those whom they want to keep and sell the rest. It is only then that the club would be able to bring in players that they actually need.

End Of My Chelsea Rant

Chelsea are hoping to improve their performance in the upcoming matches to remain in the top five. Whether or not they will sell an entire XI is yet to be seen.
