Arsenal are reported to be after Bayern Munich’s Joshua Kimmich, with the player’s contract near its end.
Bayern Munich have yet to make Joshua Kimmich sign a new contract with his current one close to its end. The possibility of a free transfer in case Kimmich doesn’t renew has made Arsenal eye him for a future transfer.
Did Kimmich Reject Bayern Munich’s New Deal?
According to Sky Sports Germany, Kimmich didn’t agree yet to Bayern Munich’s new contract. The 30 years old player’s current contract will expire in the summer which might make the German giants afraid of losing him.
The new deal would witness Kimmich receiving about €20-22 million per year with the contract lasting until 2028. Despite this, the publication is reporting that Kimmich didn’t agree yet, which made Arsenal seriously consider signing him.
Would Kimmich Reject Bayern Munich For An Arsenal Move?
There is some doubt on whether Kimmich might consider signing for Arsenal on a free transfer or not. The midfielder, however, is yet to accept Bayern’s new contract.
The German publication has also reported that Bayern Munich wouldn’t mind having further negotiations, but they do have a limit on what they are willing to pay.
Sources close to Kimmich are saying that he wants to choose the best move for the next stage of his career. Whether this move would be to Arsenal or not is yet to be seen.
Why Are Arsenal After Kimmich?
The fact that Kimmich is wanted by the club is reasonable since they do need to reinforce their midfield.
This free transfer if done could solve the team’s problem when it comes to the fact that both Thomas Partey and Jorginho will become free agents in the summer.
The club is already in talks with Kimmich’s camp. They might have to be more appealing than Bayern Munich’s offer if they want him to agree.
With his numbers, he can negotiate as much as he likes. The Germany international had 435 appearances with Bayern Munich where he scored 43 goals and won eight Bundesliga titles.
Kimmich Could Be Useful For Arsenal
Arsenal’s team would get a huge boost if this free transfer happened. The midfielder has been the target for many teams and not just them.
Other clubs interested in him are Inter, Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City, and Real Madrid. Paris Saint-Germain might be the direct opponent for the club in the race for Kimmich.
Many people, not just me, know that the midfielder could improve any team he plays in. Whatever is his next move, the club who gets to have him will surely be lucky.

End Of My Arsenal Rant
If Arsenal somehow managed to pull this off, they would bolster their midfield and won’t have to worry about Jorginho and Partey’s possible exit.
