Once again, the Chicago “Cardiac” Bears pulled off an insanely improbable 22-16 win in overtime against the NFL’s all-time rival, the Green Bay Packers, at home.

An NFL rivalry dating back to 1920, 212 matchups, and the anchor of the term “rivals”: all of Chicagoland were on the edge of their seats for this thrilling game of the year.

The Final Minutes

Caleb Williams came in clutch at the end of the 4th quarter, making plays to get the team in field goal position, in hopes of getting an onside kick recovered.

Cairo Santos kicked a perfect bounce on the onside kick, giving Chicago hope to get another score. A few plays later, Williams threw the game-tying touchdown to rookie Jahdae Walker.

After Packers RB Emmanuel Wilson fumbled the game away on the 4th and 1, this gave the Monsters of the Midway a spark to make the city believe in miracles.

Williams threw a lethal moonball dime to DJ Moore, ending OT and giving Soldier Field Category 4 earthquakes from the fans rumbling and screaming.

Excited For The Future

Last season’s two matchups and this year’s matchups provide enough evidence to prove that his rivalry has been revamped, rekindled, and reenergized, making it exciting to watch again.

There is no more of Aaron Rodgers “owning” the Bears. Every matchup against Rodgers was either an embarrassing blowout or an ugly, low-scoring, and unentertaining game.

This is now the Caleb Williams vs. Jordan Love era. They are evenly tied 2-2. No lopsided record like Rodgers being 24-5, facing nine different Bears QBs since 2008.

There is no doubt Williams and Love are going to be on their teams for another decade. They have proven they are their franchise QBs. It will be fun seeing the two duke it out for the NFC North for years to come. As long as young talent keeps being built around them, these matchups will be cinema.

Where Does Chicago Stand?

After the exhilarating win, Chicago holds the #2 seed in the NFC and leads the NFC North division with an 11-4 record with two games left in the regular season.

All that is left on the Bears’ slate is to head to San Francisco to play the 49ers and finish the season back at home to take on the Detroit Lions.

End Of My Rivalry Rant

I fully regret not dropping $350 for nosebleed seats to witness this game in person, my goodness. The nighttime atmosphere in Soldier Field was so electric, I could feel it through the TV. I’ve seen 3 Bears-Packers games in my life, and they’ve all been shitty, but this game was on for the books, hands down. I’m excited for future matchups and super glad the term “rivalry” is back in business.
